And I think you'd find better performance by far versus that 40mm rad.

    Thats the spirit Craig! Thanks.

I think I'll still need the 2x40mm rad because I want to keep all of this housed inside the 5.25" drive bay area - making use of a couple of the 40mm fans I have installed there. But that Viva would work perfectly for the block/pump.

It occurred to me just now that my desktop at home has had an image for you sitting there for over a week now. I don't think I ever sent it out to you. Sorry about that, I'll make a note to shoot that off this evening.

No problem man! Whether you use the included radiator or not, the block/pump should work very well for your purposes.

No worries. You've obviously been very busy!

Nice new gear. I want to use that orange coolant in my next mod. Would you mind taking some pics of it under UV and normal light? The pics on the sight are misleading.

the block isn't that big, take another look. A Danger Den RBX is bigger, even a Maze 4 is bigger.

I bet if the 40.2 rad was used then it could run passive on that pico system, might even be possible to join the router on to the loop aswell, dam tight tho!

@nikeunltd - Thanks, it's not too big... huge performance apparently.

@The boy 4rm oz - I don't have any UV lighting but I'll take some better pics of the colour for you.

@Burnout21 - Since I already have the 40mm fans in the front of the bay, I figure I'll just use a couple of those to cool the rad. I like the idea of cooling the Alix with water also, but I've already planned a unique air cooler for it. I do like how you are thinking sir - keep it coming.

Thanks to everyone else for reading.

I just had a look at the specification on your radiator and found that it is mainly made of copper and brass. This got me thinking...

Sand blast it, bring it back to bare metal, polish it and laquer it. uber shiney for the uber shiney case!

Excellent progress! This thing's gonna rule when you get it done.

Is this project in fact a rebuild of this same case you already had up in modding?

@The boy 4rm oz Ask and ye shall receive:
Inside under halogen light: (black specs are marks on the glass ramekin, not from the coolant)

Outside on a very sunny day:

@Burnout21 - I like - and for some reason I also happen to have a sand blasting tank - so I may give this a try. My only concern would be that the fins may get damaged. But we wont know until we try.

@E.E.L. Ambiense - Thanks man, I hope you're right... so does my bank account. Yes it is one and the same, those pics were taken before my return home from Vancouver - and before my delusions of grandiosity, hahaha.

Yet another update for you all, I got a package in the mail form eVGA today. My -free- upgrade from the 9800GTX cards.

@ComputerKing - Unfortunately I'm not quite F.T.W. these are only SSC edition cards - but can two "super"s in one title be a bad thing? I think not.

i suggest finding out an old radiator to sand blast to see if it gets damaged, or hook up two old barbs on your shiney new rad and loop a piece of tubing between the two and fill it with water, this will bound to show leaks caused by the blasting, and keep the internals dust free!

    Clearly nothing is sacred:

Naked GTX280's, and I must say that I have a new appreciation for nVidia engineering... the heatsink on these babies was nothing short of a work of art - engineering at it's best. And a bloody pain to remove.

They are considerably lighter now only about 245grams

Does anyone else get chills at the thought of how this is going to turn out? Or is it just me? Haha.

Great work, Langer. I'll be looking forward to your next update!
