It is monday, and we're ready to finish! The last of the parts is here and ready to go. See you in about an hour.

 

Here's the first real update of mega monday! My order from Scan arrived earlier in the afternoon, that should say enough so far...

I started by bringing everything downstairs- like the fan frames.



Ooh! What could this be?


There's a clue!


Apologies for the photography on this one, but here's a badly lit and noisy photo of my items. 3 enermax TB silence fans and a phobya 3 way 3 pin fan splitter.




And some too well lit photos of the fans.





Also, some good photos of the fan splitter to boot.


With everything downstairs, I was ready to make a great looking radiator!

As any viewers may have seen, I will be leaving between updates on mega monday. I'll sonn be installing the hardware!

The Checkered Flag Night- My Biggest Ever Update Is Coming! 8:32

It is.
I'm now over the moon to say where I'm typing from! It's SO quiet, more in 10 minutes or so.

Continuing On From Yesterday, here's the photos of all the hardware going in. It was quite an easy process and cable management isn't overly- complex in this case, so I was able to have a good night's sleep...


First, the power supply is ready to come out of the 922.


All cables unplugged- the board can come out now!


PSU cables hanging out of the new case (apologies for poor focus there!)


Hard drive installed and wired up.


Graphics card ready to be moved- needs a clean too!


The board in the old case- ready to be pulled out.


Looks strangely empty now...


That's the mobo ready to be moved over.


Fans wired up.


Ready for some graphical horsepower!


Tight fit on the cooler..


One graphics card.


All ready to be wired up!


Not much cable management needed.


USB wired up.


And the front panel followed.

And then, the front panel was on....

Right on time for closure? 9:00 is good. Anyway, I won't say much more until the end and simply present you with the photos of a marvellous team project...

 

I REALLY like the copper rings on the fans. They're a very nice touch.

 

This is the end- what a great project it was...

So, the closure I've wanted to make for a while:

What was the aim of this project?
We've aimed to make a budget, recycled project that still had plenty of aesthetic appeal to it. I think we've pulled it off. The idea going in was a flat, test bench style case, using what we had, what came out was a lovely black and copper box which is almost silent and has fantastic airflow. We've had fun along the way, we've laughed, I've scoffed mini rolls and we've had full pleasure out of captain fire spray. I'm so very happy to have his help with things like this- we may be lacking in a few areas but what comes out will last forever. I'm confident this case will bring with it torment, jokes and a lot of unpaid bills on my half. But what more could you ask for? I've had an unforgettable summer- thanks Grandpa!
