The announcement on Monday was at best a press release and the products are still going to be under NDA one would assume. I do however think we might see leaks popping up now and reckon a mid-late Jan as a decent estimate for a release date.
Only because unfounded rumor tells you to expect it NOW. If you didn't know any better you'd quite happily prepare to wait however long it takes
Sooo....... you are telling us cryptically that there is no announcement this week and we still have a while to wait (months)?
You guys are such goldfish Remember the buildup to Bulldozer? AMD's PR guys are very good, unfortunately you can't polish a turd!
Is this all it was about??? The launch of 7000m mobile GPUs? Very disapointed. Here is link on anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5200/...on-7000m-and-nvidias-geforce-600m-mobile-gpus
We always knew it would be mobile and low end chips first, if you expected high end cards in December 11 then you always were going to be disappointed..
^ this As far as I understood it other details were only really ever going to be released at CES in January.
I knew that really, didn't expect cards in Dec, but hoped to get clear signal that they were coming out end of Jan/early Feb. I was just holding out hope as I am about to buy a new card. Not going to wait with no clear signs so will probably buy GTX570 or GTX580.
Got mine last week, it was time for an upgrade. You can always hang about waiting for the next thing...
buy 580/570. you won't regret it: Radeon HD 6990> GTX 590> Radeon HD 7970> GeForce GTX 580> Radeon HD 7950> GeForce GTX 570> Radeon HD 6970 Performance order. DX 11.1 support kind of confirmed. http://www.donanimhaber.com/ekran-karti/haberleri/AMD-Radeon-HD-7000-serisi-icin-fiyat-bilgileri.htm (Turkish translation required)
I had heard rumors that they are due in Jan, but hoped they may indicate that they may give more solid news so that I would wait. Rather than get to end of Jan and find out pushed back months or no availability due to it being a paper launch.
