GOG Galaxy Client doesn't want to play with The Witcher 3 pre-load at the moment, very very slow! Direct download from GOG.com seems to be working a treat on the other hand.
Installed The Witcher 3 from the Pre-Load files and it comes to 24.5GB. GOG Galaxy recognises the installation so I'm all good to go. Either a final download and update file direct from GOG or patch via GOG Galaxy on the 19th and the game will unlock. No review embargo from CD Projekt unlike other studios and it's pleasingly very positive across the board at the moment!
Understatement of the year right there! Gamespot gave it a 10/10 - I think they've only given that out a few times in their entire history.
Yeah these reviews are getting me seriously excited about it! Given some of the technical problems we've had with games in the last year though I'm thinking I might leave it a bit before buying, see what people on here are saying about performance/stability.
sweet jesus. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt/critic-reviews Mite just go and get the expansions now.....
Example of the gorgeous 'HairWorks' in action! Nvidia posted a piece about the system requirements here... http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-is-your-system-ready
nvidia have made HairWorks incredibly taxing for AMD, to the point you have to have it disabled.... ****ing nobs.
They mention about 900 series being up to 3 times faster on tessellation to previous gen & hairworks & the ocean being tessellation. Hoping SLI GTX 770 4GB can max it smoothly @ 1440p, want to skip a generation or 2 & then jump into SLI 770 equivalent.
They usually state these estimates based on low resolutions. I doubt the 900 series have that much of an advantage over the 700 cards at regular resolutions. Also anticipate going sub 1440p resolution to run smoothly at ultra settings with GTX 780 Ti SLI. Hope to be proven wrong and go ultra at my native 1440p though!
some guy in the comment section of this article said the 2500k bottlenecks the 970 card, is this really true ? i've looked at reviews of new intel CPU's and haven't seen any significant difference in gaming...
