Having just commented on a few other threads, it's made me realize how much gaming has followed the film & music industry down the path of "mass produced cash-in rubbish". I've only recently got back into gaming again, but I've found the earlier games in the 360's lifespan are far more full of passion, care, quality and "love". The latter games (from what a mate tells me post EA-izastion of games) are worryingly bad and soulless. So after playing and loving the Witcher 2 and seeing what's in store with TW3 I gotta say I think this is not only a pivitol game for CD Projekt Red, but also for gaming in general. Watered down firms and franchises need a new standard to adhere too, and if TW3 is as good as we hope, and also sells loads (which I think is a given), then it will hopefully make the likes of EA situp and realize that churning out utter garbage on the strength of a franchise name alone every year will only lead them to ruin. Here's to TW3!!
TW2 combat is such a big change from the first. Its a lot more tactical imo. Need to really duck and roll and slash get back out. Cast the shield power. And get back in. Its like the first though, im on normal and its challenging me. Cant wait for the 3rd, think ill wait a bit like i did with these. The Dev's are second to none and keep updating and enhancing the game after release. Ill let it get a little more polish before i dive in. Just about to fight some huge kraken in number 2!
I've never played them before. I love skyrim, is it similar to that? Number 3 looks very good looking indeed from the footage I've seen.
Not as open world but the 3rd looks be more along the Skyrim lines with the large open world. 1 & 2 are more linear but still have a large open area to explore each chapter. Really political and deep story’s, where your action s affect what happens. And they absolute machine bursting games ha! Proper stress testers
Funnily enough I've just inherited a decent Windows 7 PC and installed TW1 over the weekend. I've only just started playing it, but so far so good (although the combat isn't my cup of tea). Looking forward to playing through it. TW2 is unreal. I didn't realize how much the game changed with alternate choices either until a mate told me. The second playthrough was even better than the first seeing all the events unfold from a different perspective. TW2 is far more story & plot driven than Skyrim. I couldn't take to Skyrim personally - I found it OK, but it just didn't really grab me and I grew tired of it quite quickly. I hear TW3 is gonna be somewhere between TW2 & Skyrim.
Here's what you'll need: Minimum System Requirements •Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz •AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940 •Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 •AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870 •RAM 6GB •OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1) •DirectX 11 •HDD Space 40 GB Recommended System Requirements •Intel CPU Core i7 3770 3,4 GHz •AMD CPU AMD FX-8350 4 GHz •Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 770 •AMD GPU Radeon R9 290 •RAM 8GB •OS 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1) •DirectX 11 •HDD Space 40 GB http://www.pcgamer.com/the-witcher-3-system-requirements-announced/
Remarking how well my PC has stood the test of time, now it only meets the 'minimum requirements'! Wonder how well it'll cope at 1440p resolution?
Considering the 2500K is about twice as fast as the 940 I don't know who put together that spec list.
It seems, at a bare minimum, retarded, to compare the two as base level, quadcore processors. AKA; agreed.
Bets on the 3570k and 3770k providing identical performance as well. Hyperthreads never help with gaming in my experience.
+1 to that also. Although I've only ever had HT on a laptop. These guys have had a few comparisons out there. http://www.ocaholic.ch/modules/smartsection/item.php?page=0&itemid=1185
