Ebay is a good place to search for a wallet. When I wanted one last year I spent an age trawling through hundreds of them until I found the one I was after. I may link a picture later if I can find it.
This is a surprisingly interesting little thread! I use a random cheap wallet which has lasted for a number of years now but this has given me a desire for something tasty! Oh and keys and lighter in left pocket, phone right pocket, wallet in back right and I'm a righty. I'm almost OCD when it comes to where I put stuff down when I get home from work and where it goes again when I leave for work.
I've got an old Ben Sherman wallet that has served me well for the past 6 years. Starting to loose some of the threading now but it's take a hell of a lot of punishment at festivals/gigs and the like. Lighter, wallet and oyster card in my front left. Backy, filters and phone in my front right. loose change in my back left and keys in my back right.
Got some random "genuine leather" wallet as a gift from my Nan from BHS when I was 15/16, has served me well still going strong. Used to carry all the change I had in the coin purse thing but in the last year have given up trying to put coins in it, just straight into my left pocket! Phone in front right, wallet + change front left, house keys + bike key on a lanyard tied to a belt loop in back left (don't even notice them when I sit down) car keys on a carabina attached to house keys or in my front left pocket! has been that way for years, anything else feels so wrong
Some interesting replies so far, keep them coming! I've been having a think and a trawl round the web, and I'll change the specs required slightly: Should be be able to take a few cards. My job involves a lot of travelling, so maybe snake/alligator skin might have to be given a miss so I can get through customs. Leather should be alright. I wouldn't like it to fall apart on me in some strange backwater, so nice and hard wearing would be good. It either needs to be quite classy or expedition rugged. Change pocket/bit now optional Looking for one with a picture bit, so I can take pictures of her indoors with me, etc - This one may be under duress! So, over to you lot to empty my bank account and make sure my wallet stays thin! This might help set the scene for the type of wallet I'm after: Now replace Mr Enigma with a short, hariy bloke with a bad accent, and you've pretty much got the idea! Cheers Enterobsidian
Wallet in back right if i have too much stuff. But phone in front, wallet in front right (or in jacket pocket if I'm wearign a suit. I've had the same cheap hong kong wallet for years now.
Been having a look round their website, some very nice wallets there, but I don't understand a word! Edit: think brain's on a go slow today, I've found the English button! Cheers Enterobsidian
Yeah i know. How long before I get a ban for that link? lol. *goes looking for a better wallet picture*
good thread. amazing how few others seem to wear a jacket? wallet in backright pocket if I have no jacket on and inside jacket pocket when I have one. As for front pockets, one is for the phone, and the other is for the other phone, keys, and change. Doesn't anyone else have the 2 phones issue to deal with? what do you do? Oh and on topic - I use a genten leather wallet bought in tokyo years ago, and it will go strong for a long time yet. Fossil are a more available - in my experience they are also robust as hell.
I do have the two phone issue, they either go in the same pocket or the work phone goes in one of the back ones. Here is my Freitag wallet after 3 1/2 years:
This, or this, They are beautiful, will last forever, and they have a nice picture pocket and you can, if you like, get your initials on it!
See now this is a trickey one. It depends on what type of jacket I am wearing. If its casual then stuff generally stays in trousers, but if its more of a smart jacket/blazer say, it will go in the inside pocket as I would tend to be wearing trousers where you wouldnt want to spoil the line of Hmm, look what this is turning into!
