I've just noticed that people who don't believe in anything- they have some issues they aren't ready to give up.. the titty bar ect.. it's the same with becoming a mason

like not every christian can just become a mason- most aren't ready

Nine times out of ten I get on really well with Christians, but in this thread - as whenever they start talking about homosexuality - I'm having to really bite my tongue. Nothing tests my patience and my commitment to the "right to say it" philosophy more than religious homophobia.

 

This is what thehippoz does, reduces any thread to a discussion about homosexuality.

I really do think he is as bad as Dwarfer.

 

Because he knows that many people will bite..

I have my opinion about orientation, and I, a guy, will be seeking a wife in a few years. I've commited to it, and nothing is going to change that.

Again, like has been said, with a Christian background, I believe it is wrong.

If you want my full opinion, talk to me. In person. A public forum is not the best place to be talking about such sensitive matters. (Partially because of the possible poking, and partially because the message may not go through properly.

I glean two options from that enigmatic post, either:

1. He thinks he can be turned by gay propaganda
2. He has had homosexual urges, but is resolute not to indulge them due to his christian beliefs.

However, what's most interesting is that he thinks that he's some kind of authority on how other people should live their lives.

No problem with that, as long as it informs how you live and not how you expect others to.

 

He stated he is a a Christian, who, in accordance to his religious beliefs, morals and values, view homosexuality as something wrong.

How would this make him a homophobe?

An extreme and irrational aversion to homosexuality and homosexual people.

 

What's irrational about someone believing homosexuality is wrong? I believe it is wrong and I am not being irrational. I am also not a homophobe. I have gay friends (male and female) and they will continue to be my friends regardless of there sexual orientation. Just because you believe something is wrong, it doesn't mean you hate everything about it.
