My best purchases of 2010: Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 USB/DAC/PreAmp/HeadAmp MS Sidewinder Mouse ^Both of those I purchased and have really liked, with no second thoughts My other acquisitions have been things I have been happy with, but have had second thoughts about. A lot of it stems from the fact that I am making more money now than I have ever, so I have been making impulse computer purchases. My ~not sure purchases: Phenom II X6 1055T + Radeon HD 5750 - Wonder if I should have spent the extra cash to just get a Core I7 930 and GTX 460. I was originally planning on a ~$500 Core i5 or Phenom II X4 build with a Radeon HD 55xx or 56xx, upsold myself to ~$800 X6 and HD 57xx, then wondered whether I should have just gone all out on a $1100 i7 build. In retrospect, given my gaming needs, I probably should have stuck to the cheap stuff, since I pretty much just play DotA and TF2. Asus 21.5" LCD. Bought it on Monday, because it was on sale. On Tuesday, they put the 23.6" model on sale for the same price. Kinda kicking myself for losing out on the extra 2.1". However, it is a second monitor (main monitor is a 25.5" Asus from last summer), so it doesn't really matter that much. Otherwise, I have made a couple ~$20 purchases that I've ended up not needing, but nothing too serious.
Either my i7 or my Conn 90A cornet. Amazing little horn. It's from 1921, as well. Tough little *******.

A couple of purchases that made a difference to my life this year, actually: - My entry level MacBook Pro. - My (super slow- 192k, but better than not having always-on web) ADSL Line - My 40" Bravia TV, even thouhg it hardly got any use since my XBox died. Guitar hero nights are always win, though. - A veg slicer. Believe it or not, that thing made my life better. Now I can eat fresh veg all the time, rather than the pre-cooked frozen super expensive rubbish. And it's way less effort.
Woah this turned out to be far more demotivating than the "funny pics, and stupid-ass rant about OT"-thread. So much money spent and I've bought absolutely nothing major/anything that I could name. Thanks for the eye-opener.
Its got to be a toss up between Sonos kit and wallmount paraphernalia for the TVs. Both of which I could now not live without. Though I suppose a new house would rank pretty highly too!
My Line 6 AM4, discontinued for 5 years and I get one for £25 on the bay. Megawin. Made all my other overdrive/distortion stompboxes instantly obsolete, it's got the sound I've spent the last 6 years looking for. Absolutely immense tone! Although it may be usurped by one of these in a few months...the pictures really don't do it justice. The translucent black (my poison of choice) is particularly pretty, almost black at the edges to woodgrain awesomness in the middle. Reminds me of the Professor Satchafunkilus album cover for some reason...
One purchase I definitely don't regret is purchasing my Beyerdynamic MMX300s - for £300. The sound quality is just out of this world and I'm hearing things that I've never heard in films/games etc. before.
Thats a hard one but I would have to say my computer chair every night I sit back and start gaming I'm really glad I bought it.
