+1 Still less than audio though. It's gone though a few iterations. Base PC: £750ish (maybe add £200 for SSDs, can't remember, don't want to remember) WC loop: £250ish Peripherals(not including any audio gear): £1500
I honestly couldn't say simply because of how it's come about. That's the beauty of an older AMD system, this is the third (and final) AM2 socket CPU I've had, second motherboard, third case, third PSU, fourth GPU, third set of RAM and my two most recent hard drives all assembled together eventually over several years. It's starting to show its age now though, and when Arma 3 comes out I'll be looking at starting all over again.
I think around the £650-£700 price, about to spend another £240 on a 7950 (MSI twin Frozr) or £300 ish on a custom WC setup
Not Enough, but at the same time too much, heck some people on here have graphic cards that cost more then my complete setup but i'm still proud
Prolly couldnt say for my sig rig. A lot of it was cheap materials like acrylic etc but lots of time/hard work etc
Again, lots springs to mind. Current rig I've say £1000-1200 maybe at a guess - very possible its more as I expect the watercooling gear is close to £500 alone.
I write hardware reviews so most of the gear I'm using is "free". Buying the same setup from a store would have set me back maybe 1500 € (just the tower) + monitors, keyboards, etc. If I were to actually buy a computer, I think the honey spot would be around 700 €. (Hell, my car costs less than my graphics card used to..)
This. FAR too much. Suffice to say, my rig has cost me several times what I bought my car (a lovely Volvo V70, second hand) for. I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from buying some of the more ludicrous upgrades!
If I calcul the original prices of every component inside the tower (excluding the monitor, k-board and mouse) about 1800$
+1 Usually on cases, look good on-line then get them and notice the little design faults and decide nope not really what you want.
In total with peripherals it cost me around €1200, I think — and I don't regret even a single cent. I lurve my rig, simple as it is.
This is a seriously scary question. Thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours. Thousands just invested in the custom case. However on the plus side, the main working componenets were pretty cheap. Then having spent hundreds just on fittings. Think im gonna leave it there, makes me realise how much ive wasted now.
Not much, somewhere around £650 including two mismatched monitors. I used several used and refurbished parts. It's hard to tell though with upgrades etc.
