Most of the pronunciations on the interwebs are terrible and wrong.

"Na'ir" rhymes with far, but it's not exactly that, there's a different vowel before the 'r'. Sort of like an very quick 'i/e' sound. NAA-er would come closest, I suppose.

"Al" rhymes with 'cull' (as in controlling herd populations of animals).

"Saif" has the same "ai" sound as 'lair', with 's' and 'f' pronounced normally.

but I would say that this project is Mumtaz / Jayyid Jiddan ya Akhi!
I previously worked in some Aerospace companies- some tech guys there probably would hail you for creating this turbine cowling look-alike fan..heheh

If you don't want to trim the fan blades, you could feed a coping saw blade through and remove the inner circle, then use the drum sander to flatten the nubs left behind, to make it effectively a single ring, rather than two connected rings.

Unless, of course, that is the kind of look you are going for.

Thanks a lot guys.

I like to pronounce the name as: Na-ear al Say-eef, it looked very mysterious and exotic
when I first saw it and is a lot better than Iota Orionis. However, it's the translation from
Arabic to English that interested me as far as the name was concerned: "bright one of the
sword".

If anyone can make use of any ideas or methods in this log, then please, take what you
like.

The fan carrier was drilled/tapped and bolted to the lower main support. A piece of 3mm
angle was to be used to tie the front and back together, but I remembered a couple of
pieces of plex I had left over from CX1. These are 20 x 50mm.







The fan carrier was made a bit more interesting ( and will be some more) by removing some
material at the top.



And I'm quietly smiling at the progress.













The next job, and probably the last to involve thicker material, is to make the support struts.





These will be cut from some 12 x 40mm bar. I'm not sure about the final shape for the pads,
and the only disadvantage to this design is the extra 70mm added to the height of the
chassis.



But I've run out of time today.
