ahem... An E-MU 0404 using asio out to a music first silver transfromer passive preamp, to a pair of channel islands audio d200 mono bloc amps, to a pair of quad esl 63 electrostatic loudspeakers. Or for headphones i use either a set of Sennheiser hd650's with custom gold and silver cable off a graham slee audio solo. Or my Stax SRS-4040 signature system 2. Do i win a prize?
Desktop: m-audio 24/96 -> hifi -> 2.0 speakers or hd25-sps after hours Lappy: Echo Indigo DJ -> hd25-sps
Creative Audigy (getting an E-mu 0404 soon) -> denon amp/CD player -> Monitor Audio Bronze speakers, or my SR80s.
Onboard sound -> Logitech R-20s -> ears. For all of $30, they're good 2.1 speakers. My room is acoustically terrible, so I didn't see any reason to go for more expensive speakers.
My X-Fi Elite pro through my roommate's 7.1 speakers (they're high quality as his dad is an audiophile) but I have no idea as to the specific make.
Depending on which parent's house I'm at, I have a decent 2.1 setup or just use some budget Sony earbuds. Not the best sound either place, but gets the job done. 5.1 and 7.1 just wouldn't be good in my room without drastic layout changes that I'm too lazy to make.
I chose "other" as I listen on a 2.1 hi-fi setup. M-audio revo 7.1>B&K st202>Exodus DIY 2-way floorstanders Also M-audio revo 7.1>CSS LT350 350W@4ohmplate amp>10^3' 15" Tempest subwoofer port tuned@18hz I will eventually finish the setup.
On board audio (X-fi minus linux drivers = paperweight), cheap Walmart special 5.1 channel speakers that are really only 2.1 channel hanging around the room. Cheesy, but it gets the job done.
Sony STRKSL500 Cost me £100 almost three years ago, still running fine now! Bought a matching 5.1 Speaker setup from Sony for £110 aswell, pumps out enough volume for me, just wish I could upgrade it to component/HDMI
B&W ceiling speakers connected to my aging Sherwood A/V reciever. I want a new amp over the summer so the sherwood reciver will be religated to A/V switching for my distribution system..
just a standard 2.0 panasonic hifi here!! just a little common and cheap lol but i dont know any better than this so i cant get too jealous of you guys!
Either a 4.1 setup (my 2.1 hifi plus my 2.0 speakers - and no its not just 2.1 with more channels, mobo has HD audio outputs and is set to 4.1) or a pair of Logitech W350's if its late etc.
