Some fairly unoriginal, but also fairly pretty images of leaves. Flickr won't host them at that size (for free), but they originally come in 2250x1600 format, accommodating up to 30" widescreen TFTs... I'll see if I can host a file of them somewhere (comes to 13Mb!).

You need to get that up to 2560 wide. Not three hours ago, I was looking for a good widescreen wallpaper for my dual-17" work setup.

Oh, if you want, I'd be happy to throw them up on my Photobucket account for ya. I'm all paid up there so I can throw plenty of bandwidth at this.

I can do that --I always keep the camera originals which stretch to 3872 x 2592. For a dual 17" setup, you basically need 2560 x 1024, right? No problem. PM me and I'll send them to you in a (massive) e-mail...

#4's a great image. The lines across the frame are really good, and work perfectly with the DOF. And the mixture of colours in the leaves is great. Just bit of a shame the sky gets blown out a bit in the top-left.

I also like #5. I'd rather the trees encroached another 5-10mm or so to the left to strike a nicer balance, and the branch/leaves in the fore-right corner are unfortunate. But the colours are great, especially against the striking blue backdrop.

Indeed. I'll send a PM with my email addy, and if you want me to, I'll toss them on Photobucket to host them (and of course, if you'd rather I didn't, I won't).

I thought that 30" screens were 2560x1600 though... not 2250px. Perhaps you have a funny display.

Some really nice pictures. Wouldn't use them personally as I tend to go for more 'abstract' desktop images, and as you admitted they are a bit generic, but I'll definitely be downloading em; the last one's especially beautifully.

    Be my guest. :)

    i meant 2550 x 1600 pixels (typo), but d'oh! :duh: You're right. It should be 2560 x 1600. I'll just quickly redo them.

I've sent them out in .zipped attachments (not that this makes much difference; .jpg is as compressed as it gets already, but it was easier) to Firehed, Spec and Jamie. Paste them, host them, post them, spread the love. :p

EDIT: OK, e-mail refuses to dispatch/receive them because the attachments are too big...

I dumped them in a public folder I set up on my Omnidrive account. Just click on the link and download.

Nikon D80 with polarised filter. Good, bright sunshine and a steady hand (exhale breath, hold, shoot) helped too. :)
