Case Mod - In Progress Project Black Rain: RIP 2008

Hey, MS! Looks good...as always

I was wondering, how do you plan to re-attach the mobo tray, etc? My V2100 has really small, flat rivets along the sides that are countersunk so as to not interfere with the side panels. I've been afraid to drill them out for fear of not being able to re-attach them. What's your plan?

MUCH-thanks mnpctech... Your correct (not sometimes), the journey IS better than the destination..
My journey leads me to the mother board cover..
A very spartan design:

a pair of 30mm stands offs-screwed together provide the height..

and sheet-black acrylic, the material..

Thanks, it's actually a very-simple "spartan" approach to hiding the MB. Much of what I do is just-that, simple and spartan. IMHO, what is cool about the idea is that it is all but "future-proof".. Any MB can be concealed behind it..

By the way- the bezels are from Chopper's Inc. They are billet Alu, designed as replacements for stock HD gauge-bezels.. The v-stack, also HD stuff is from Eddie Trotta..

Just a question...
Maybe I'm dumb, but how do you plan to install the vid card?
I suppose you have a decent vid card and don't use the on board vid...
Maybe you plan to use a riser?

 

Sorry rig- completely forgot to say that I need to order more of the 30mm MB-standoffs I have been using (the ones pictured on the last page). Using them in conjunction with the stock (5mm) ones, the plan is to have the MB cover sit flush with the height of the PCI slots (which is just under 120mm)..
Thanks for reminding me about that detail, and I hope I did not confuse anyone by not speaking about it in the last post!
I held off ordering more while looking for longer ones, it seems in M3 male/female 30mm length is the max..
