Welcome fellow modders to this new worklog of mine!

You might recognize me from Cold Fusion, and the Hangar 101 mods, and here the new project I'm working on.

This mod will go in the same Tech theme as my other mods, but there's one major difference - Practicality. The mods I've previously done have been solely directed at the looks of the case. So, I bet many of you are thinking: V.2? Where the hell is the V.1!? The V.1 is a small time project I made a while ago, and because it's "small time", I did'nt bother to worklog it. But what I can do, is supply you with a pic of the finished thing:

So, now when you all know what to expect, I'll start of by announcing:

    Worklog Open!

Also, big thanks to the Brilliant guys over @ ACRyan!

Okay, so the first thing I need for this project is a monitor. I settled on a 19" Wide Viewsonic. Pretty good performance - Nice price.

    And so the violence begins...

After an hour or so I had managed to crack it open.

The problem with this kind of project is that you can't really start the planning until you see how the monitor is built, where all the vital components are, where the mounting holes are, and so forth.

Anyway, I decided too let the motherboard tray be supported by the holes you nomally use for the wall mount (At least I think that's what they're for ). I used 2mm aluminium for the tray itself.

Also bent the edge of the tray to keep the future psu in place.

Time to give the psu a nice place to sit. I made a "platform" from 2mm aluminium.

This is where I'll place the spacers for the psu platform.

The spacers are motherboard spacers I got them with a CM Stacker 830. I drilled them out, and re-tapped them with M3. I also drilled and tapped the screen with M3.

    3mm counter-sunk bolts, yummy!

In place. Obviously, the psu will need more support, but that's a problem I'll deal with later on.

That's it for this update, more will come tomorrow!

V1 looks like a well made all-in-one system, so I'm looking forward to V2!

    Next update!

I've cut out a piece of aluminium, which I'll use to hold down the psu even more.

Bent the top edge 90 degrees.

...And bolted on the side of the screen.

    Looking good so far :)

Also made a holder for the HDD
    [IMG]

Not gonna put this in it's place just yet though.

Time to start making the exterior. I made a side panel of 3mm aluminium, and a cover from 3mm black acrylic. Sorry, I forgot to take som pics of the actual cutting...

    At least I'm pleased!

Bolting it on... I'm using M5 nuts as spacers.

I'm using the same M3 countersunk bolts here

Left side done, more tomorrow :D

I knew you would be "the guy from Hangar 101" when I saw the alu and plexi on the left side of V0.1 :D Great work on the second one :)

Hmm, yeah you're absolutely right, the idea is the same. But since it seems like I made my V.1 before him I'm just gonna ignore it :D

I really like how you show the monitors box, the monitor, then it's in pieces, the true modder spirit! Loved the previous projects, I'll be following this one.

I've seen a PC in a CRT but never a PC in a TFT.. this could be a work of genius.
