You know my old asus nforce2 motherboard also had the temperature probe connector, seems weird how they hang on to that so long without supplying a probe, or even instructions as to how to make your own.

I also have a q., I hear intel chipset boards often have a very high precision timer chip, do any nvidia chipset board have that?

@rt182 look at the left out pictures in the comment above, there you'll see the LCD

unlike some of the recent motherboards, it doesnt come pre-fitted with a northbridge waterblock, doesnt stop you from buying one thou, at the expense of the heatpipes

Welcome! You can use watercooling on the CPU - but you have to use the heatpipe fans provided to provide airflow to the fins. There's no specific northbridge watercooling version like previous RoG boards though. :)

A lovely review, but I'm still using a PS/2 mouse! This MX1000 has problems over USB, and the only solution is to use it over PS/2. :p

Kingston PC2-9600 - fantastically fast and cheap memory. We used it in the review.

Unless you were to fork out over £100 for a full set of chipset and Mosfet waterblocks! :thumb:

Well, yes :p but you'd need northbridge, 2x mosphet, southbridge and NF200, plus make sure they all fit with the holes :eeek:

I was thinking of 4 gig kit that would only take up 2 slots

do you know if the OCZ DDR2 PC2-8000 1000 MHz 4GB(2x2048MB) Platinum Edition Dual Channel Kit Would work well with The Striker II Formula

or would ( 2 kits of 2 - 1GB) kingston 9600 DDR2 1200Mhz Non-ECC CL5 from Work better? I am worried about OCZ compatibility With the Striker II

    My build so far

    Striker II Formula
    Core 2 E6850 3.0 Ghz
    BFG 8800 GTX OC2
    Raptor 150 gig
    Ultra X3 1000watt PS
Gigabyte 3D Mercury Case W/ BUILT-IN Liquid Cooling System
    Ram??????

Just bought this board along with an E8400.

    Upgrading from a DFI NF4 Ultra-D w/ 3800+ X2.

The manual states "While in DDR2 1066 mode, ASUS's exclusive technology offers a choice of FSB 1333, providing..."

Do I have to have DDR2 1066 RAM in order to hit 1333 FSB?

I have 4GB (2x2GB), of Patriot Viper RAM coming with the board. PVS24G6400LLK

I have recently purchased the Asus Striker Formula MOBO. Any suggestions on the best and stable memory for this beast? Anyone have any luck using the Kingston PC2-9600 memory?
