At the request of Brett, here are a few shots I took last December during my trip to Inida. Thoughts, tips etc all welcome.

Good photos, any more? :) Taj Mahal one could use a tiny bit of straightening though (unless my eyes are playing tricks on me).

I took around 800 pictures (most were terrible). Not actually done any post processing yet.

I like the first the best, very interesting perspective and angle. The not-quite-straight-on works well for it - I think it would have been boring if it was perfectly vertical.

#2 is my favorite. The low angle and the guy in the corner lend a sense of grand scale to the building. The way the clouds seem to radiate from the top is a nice compositional touch. Some very minor processing would make that photo look really sweet!

Did you take a close up picture of the Taj Mahal? It looks like there is some really interesting detail on the building.

Yes I have a few close ups. There are some restrictions on what your allowed to photograph.

Mucked around with #2, could be made into a very nice picture imo. :)

No.2 is the best, I reckon.

The taj is a nice shot, but it's just so damn familiar and has been shot from every angle in and around straight on from your general direction, that I don't think it'll ever feel fresh and interesting.

It's like the Pyramids, the "three in a row" shot has been taken so many times, when someone produces a great shot of it, it just isn't great anymore.

    Nice one Major looks nicer.

There 1000s of people trying to take pics of the Taj. It was more of a picture for myself of the memory that trying to be "arty".

Number two has that eerie feeling of the old Imperialism... Sad, sorrow, triumphant and grand. All in the same shot.

To me personally it reminds me of those huge walkers from Star Wars....

Nice shots. I'm not familiar with the structure in #2 so is very interesting, but I feel cropped too tightly at the bottom. Also the space left and right don't lend too much to the image so portrait format might've suited better. That would have allowed more space above and below.
