In the Uk we can get 265bhp from a remote controlled car!

Mines is a 2 litre 240bhp (307bhp) With Hi Lifts on the rollin road.

Don't know why, but despite my very British scone-eating and public-school-attending upbringing, there is something about big block engines in 4x4s and pickups that just appeals to me on soo many levels...

Though despite this, I've ended up in a Clio... suppose I do have to pay for petrol...

I hear you on this, I worked nights all summer moving mail, 5000(ish) lbs a night from 1-6 AM to get gas money, but it was a good experience. Also I drive a Nissan, go figure.

 

I'm waiting for a couple of years but I'm going to get a dodge challenger RT with the Trackpack once we have a few over here at nice cheap prices! hmmmm

 

I don't know imperial units, sorry. For the readers, 1kgm (kilogram force metre) is almost equal to 10Nm (Newton metre), which is the international standard that they'll already know.

Anyway, the weight distribution isn't as bad as it seems. The huge differential is at the rear and all the frame reinforcements are beneath and around the bed. Then engine isn't heavy (at least the V8 aren't while the straight-six Cummins is), but the transmission is, which is right underneath the cab, which, in turn, is set quite a distance behind the front axle--almost none of the cabin is ever over or past the front axle.

Challenger are built right here in my town, and me mum probably built or drove the ones you see, as she works there. Good-looking car.

 

The rest of us have given up on lbft tbh - it's easier to go for the metric measurement of Nm.

Btw, 1kgm = 9.80665 Nm.

Mpg? When Hammering it?

i get about 8mpg or 26 when being sensible

 

40-45mpg I suppose. £35 fillup lasts just over 2 weeks

 

I'd guess at 15ish when you're on it, and probably more than 40 if you can stand to be careful. Then again, an Elise isn't really a car for spending 8 hours/day on the motorway.

 

I don't even think it's that bad. I did a trackday at brands hatch in my last one, and we spent over 2 hours on track.. did less than 1/8th of the tank of fuel.

Mines is a 2.0 but is like FEEED ME!

But i only do 4000 miles a year so it's not too bad. Hurray for impractical cars
