That time of the year again...we've had snow today! It melted pretty fast, and then we had some freezing rain which has all frozen on the ground tonight in one massive mess of ice. Made getting home...interesting. Had a few schools closed around here, and there were a load of traffic jams and stuff. Anybody else been getting any?
The best i've seen around here is a chance of icy roads tomorrow morning. Why do I have to live in the hottest part of the country?
we had some in manchester during the night was trecherous walking the 10 mins to uni due to the sluch and skate shoes are not that good for walking in snow
Finally got snow today, though I doubt it'll stay this time, as it was melting as it snowed, so a bit remained on the ground, while a bunch of it melted and turned into ice when the sun set. Global warming rocks. Was awesome though, as I rode my new bike into work today (more here on the bike) and I haven't put the winter tires on yet, so I'm riding through snow and ice on busy roads with slick tires on an unfamiliar bike. It was kind of fun to watch peoples reactions as I slid up to intersections sideways, completely in control.
We just had our snow, the stuff that'll last till late March, and here someone replaced my tires with banana peels! Curse you car and your lack of ABS!!
we got 1cm here today!! just enough to depress me, i really really want to go skiing now. it's december FFS, we should have tons of snow. supposed to snow later in the week, hopefully that will give us some proper snow, and actually cover up the grass.
Don't worry, I'm sure alberta will get tons of snow this winter. Either that, or every farmer will go bankrupt... Oh wait, the government will go bankrupt, the farmers will get massively inflated welfare checks! Yay.
You lucky *******'s im swealtering in 30c heat (yes its 30c in the room im in!) dreading the rest of summer to come
Just heard we're forecast more in the next couple of days. I better stock up, I've not got much food in. My milk was frozen this morning! I wonder where I can get some road salt from.
It never snows in Edinburgh but every street between my house and the bus stop was covered with a mm of ice slipped 7 times and landed on my back once, glad i'm not fragile.
The estate between where i work and the train station is currently and ice rink. if all the freezing weather wouldn't mind buggering off till saturday, so my other half can get back from inverness on a semi defrosted A90 I'de be happy, but its looking unlikely.
We're forecast snow tomorrow for Edinburgh There was certainly a lot of cars coming into the city this morning with a decent covering of snow.
I live just outside edinburgh, there was about 4 inches of the stuff, more expected tonight so i hear,
