News New Tron game planned by Disney

Disney Interactive is apparently planning to create a new Tron game to tie-in with the upcoming movie.

 

I'm not sure neither the film or the movie would work these days, but I really hope they prove me wrong.

 

I'm optimistic about the film and the game, but I'm a sucker for that (pseudo) vector graphics thing.

Tron 2.0 was very good too, was a big hit at the LAN party i brought it to. good times...

Tron 2.0 was an awesome game. I just played it last year. I doubt the new one will be very good if it's a movie tie-in.

 

Hmm, not sure about the idea of a game...although Tron 2.0 was pretty sweet.

There's a shakey-cam teaser for the film floating about on the internets somewhere, possibly filmed at a comic/film convention. It shows old JB in a (redesigned) lightcycle trying to outrun a program...

I thought it was T2ON? Oh well. Aside from the goofy name, the footage from Comicon (I believe?) was really quite cool. And I'm a big fan of the original, being an 80's kid. The game hopefully will be cool too.

 

Well, I really liked Tron 2.0, so maybe the concept isn't totally impossible...

Beeing a tie-in to a disney film though...don't remember any disney tie in's that were FPS like TRON2.0

I'm surprised that nobody's made a comment about Warren Spector designing a Mickey Mouse platformer...

I didn't realise the new Tron was so far away - so if game development is starting now, we might see a fairly decent tie-in game...nah, I'm just kidding. It'll be pants.

 

It's actually called TR2N.... makes a bit more sense than the "T2RN" referenced in the article.

 

I have tried and tried and tried to really watch Tron but ugh its sooo horrible, ya Im sure in its day it was a OMG type of movie which well it was but still its no excuse for really bad acting and a poor script.... but hey the Tron 2.0 game wasnt to bad, didnt play it long but it was decent enough to kill some time.

 

I hope the sequel is worth the wait. Too many childhood memories rest on this.

TBH the name TR2N is completely pox. E.E.L.'s T2ON would be much better as the 2 could be interpreted as an R and still give the number message. Kind of like SE7EN when it was released.

 

Maybe because that sounds really lame; especially compared to anything tron.

 

Thats because u didn't played castle of illusion when it was out. Twas a great game! And i really miss good old plataform games. Plus i never saw a game tie in with a movie that was at least 'good", so the great news in this article still is "castle of illusion 2" for me (because i already know of the new tron movie).
