I like the 300, In fact I have it, it's a great case, although it does lack space for cards with the PCI-E 6-pin in the back(HD4850..>_<). It has a great cooling solution and coupled with some home made fan filters, a 6000RPM Intake(or exhaust if you decide to replace the pre-installed rear exhaust fan) fan and some soundproofing mesh, it owns. However Since I have lacked the diligence to create my own window, I cannot see my own parts, Oh well, I like it's understated Looks nonetheless.
Will do, i think it's going to take 3 weeks for the fan to arrive from america so it'll give me 3 weeks to look for a case
I'm fairly sure that means it won't push air through confined spaces very well (e.g., heatsinks), but as it's a case fan, I don't think it matters.
How about this? I mean, it's two fans, not one, but they're bloo and the front is simple. I don't know the brand very well, but when I read this thread I immediately thought of this case.
Propably not, but that ain't an issue: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Xcli...ck-Tower-case-with-2-x-25cm-Side-Fans-w-o-PSU
speaking of fans... All this talk about fans on the side of cases reminded me of these pics i got from a friend a few years ago, 2003 to be exact. This fan, and a second one, were pulled working from a data-center that was being shutdown, or so i was told. The fan is an AMCO BTA10, normally used for data-center cooling. 10" dia. 3.5" deep (260mm x 90mm) 540 CFM direct AC current Google tells me that this an "alternative" to the above part, the specs are very close to what i remember. http://www.rselectronics.com/Catalog/ViewPart.aspx?Part=OA254AP-11-1WB&MFG=ORI Thought someone might appreciate it and/or find it amusing. P.S. please pardon me if this is a thread-jack.
>500 CFM is just ridiculous. There's no way you could exhaust that much air intake (unless the big fan was set as exhaust, in which case there's no way all the rest of the fans could intake that much Might as well leave the fan slots without fans, probably easier!) Hence, you know you want it I bet it makes a ****load of noise though
I Currently use a 6000RPM 120mm Fan, louder than anything else in my computer but it has about 180+ CFM.
Antec 300 is good and cheap, with good airflow. What's not to like? Although, if your budget's expanded, a whole new level of options appear E.g., Antec 1200 (larger, more airflow) Other Antec premium models Cooler Master premium models (IMO their cheap models aren't worth it) And more..
