Ive been working on this rig for a while so this will be a quick catch up to where its at now.
Phil aka Midnightray asked me for an orange and black themed rig. Now there have been a few done recently but he came to me for small details....

    Specs
    Lian Li v2010
    Asus RE2
    I7 920
    6gb Dominator 1866
    2x 4870
    Enermax 950w
    Thermochill .3 & .2 with a DDC Ultra & XSPC Delta v3

He has already cut a couple windows so my first job was paint and powder....

Colour I chose was Ford Electric orange with a Gold Pearl - fresh from the paint shop

With all the internals powdercoated satin black I set about reassembling it

The white round the edges of the doors is excess polish, takes ages to get out of the grooves grrr

    Vid of the case

Thanks to Bitspower for the 1st set of RE2 blocks to hit the UK

Now as nice as the BP blocks were I couldnt leave them standard now could I :D

The orange blocks are in this vid, raw paint not laquer ect

    Now starts the details....

The blocks were painted the same colour as the case but with the tops done the base left an awefull looking silver line around the bottom.
So I masked the bases up and just sprayed the sides, leaving the contact points and internals untouched.
Basically everything you can see is orange....

(dslr battery was flat so this is the fuji :()

Yes I love the orange and black theme that Tom has worked so hard on making perfect.

Its the little details that make Tom's work amazing, like the detail of the XSPC text on the GPU blocks or the paint on the motherboard water blocks.

Can't wait for it to be finished :)

It's amazing what a good modder can do with an application of paint. Beautiful work.

I miss some contrast in the case. The drivebay covers could be made black. This is also good for when placing a DVD drive which is black.

If I put a dvd drive in there it would have a proper lian li cover, but the 120.2 rad will be in the front and the dvd external (where it belongs imho as they ruin the look of a good pc)

Black was meant to be small touches, when it goes together it will make sense.

That is such a very nice colour, perfect finish. The water blocks look great painted. I can't wait to see the whole thing lit up with those Xigmatek fans.

The mobo loops are as tight as they can be on that hose, the bottom rad to top rad hose is still loose, when its all held in place it will look much better. Working on getting the GPU's in atm, hoping to have coolant in the by this evening.

Its Ford Electric Orange with a gold pearl.

Rig is as good as built now. Leak testing again, was done out of the case individualy but for this amount of hardware Im taking no chances.

Really starting to look the part now ;)
