Build Advice how to build rep on this forum

, I'm not too bothered with rep, I have a enough so that when I post advice its not overruled by some total noobhead who just joined and thinks he knows it all... and besides - I'm too honest to have rep, sometimes you just gotta tell it how it is even if it means hurting pheelingz

Exactly. Those who've been around for a while know who's who. People like GOO who are modding legends, John Hanlon springs to mind as well. Nexxo for his unparalleled prowess in the serious forum, Lorquis for his spam ability ...too many to list actually We all know the names... we don't need a rep bar.

In this forum, you gain rep for helping people.. simple as that. You either have the knowledge to do that, or you don't.

Seriously, I think I've gained my reps by being an arse in a funny manner. A single "comeback" earned me tons. Not like I cared, ofc.

You still haven't explained how someone could use this to improve their rep when new members can't give rep. I'm thinking.....but I still can't figure it out. Since that was the entire point of this thread, maybe you could enlighten me (I might even give you some rep if you do ).

Why don't you come you've got some substantiated proof, or even a vaguely believable story. Until then please keep your conspiracy theories to yourself, mmkay?

just for the sake of accuracy I'd like to point out that newcomers can give rep but its so little its pointless

 

Thread title: "how to build rep on this forum", which you have yet to explain how to do.

You then go on to slag off another forum member and accuse him of the above. Thinking about it, I'm not too sure there was a point to your rant at all...

As pointed out previously, new members can only give neutral rep.

Anyway, I actually use the rep button more to send anonymous messages rather than for people that help out. It's a flawed system, yes, but for the reasons mentioned above it really doesn't matter.
