Just ordered a new food mixer :)

    Kenwood Chef Titanium

Makes the 480 GTX look frugal in the power stakes but there you go. Im 'upgrading' from a handmixer so this will get used for pretty much everything apart from pastry which I wack in a processor and pasta which is too much good fun (and tasty) to make by hand.

Woop Woop no more kneeding sour doughs and makig scones!!!

Pics in a couple of days when it arrives (sorry for the stupid name, thats not my fault!)

Indeed it is... I'm assuming from your reaction that their lines of (very high quality) kitchen and household appliances are not readily available in the US? They make awesome stuff. Half my Kitchen is kitted out with Kenwood appliances. The rest is mostly Russell Hobbs :)

Aren't those just the best cookery shows, kicks that Dahl rubbish into touch IMO :)

It did persuade me to choose that specific model, but I chose a Kenwood because my parents have had the same one for the last 20 odd years, and it still makes a lighter sponge mix than I can by hand (Grrr).

Though to be honest, if you want to make decent bread the best place to start (better than just buying a machine or watching RB) would be here or his book Dough (has a dvd inside for kneading technique etc.) cheaper here than amazon.

No kidding, Mom has one and I have a VX Revolution, and she has never changed her batteries once (stock duracell batteries), and I've had to change mine like every month. Did I mention we've had them for 2 years plus?
