so, odd situation here. I have some old IDE drives, and a new motherboard; the ASUS P6X58D-E and it has no IDE slots onboard whatsoever. I've been searching for some IDE controller cards, but they all seem to be PCI, and I have no slots left (the one not occupied by the graphics cooler is filled with a soundcard), leaving me with just various flavors of PCI express left. I'm out of ideas, maybe some of you have started to run into the same sorts of things and found a solution?
Yes, this should help you quite nicely. Cheap and does exactly what you want without taking up too much space. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Lycom-PE-111R-ATA133-(IDE)-PCI-E-Controller-with-Raid-0-1-Jbod
I was just about to post that link Bakes . Here are some more options assuming you have some spare SATA connections on your m/b... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161418 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Lyco...-Device-to-SATA-(ALL-EIDE-Types-Inc-HHDDVDCD)
never attempted to deal with scan before, as I've usually been able to find parts in the USA, do they ship overseas or should I just keep looking?
My profound apologies, I didn't even notice your location (and I should have). There are these available on Newegg...
