Xbox 360 Setting up Live is the most difficult thing I have ever done

im in total disbelief over this.

1. Email already in use: Get another one.
2. Account Already in use: Get Another One.
3. Gamertag in use: GET ANOTHER ONE!
4. Parental Controls On That Account: Play "Barbies Paradise or GET ANOTHER ACCOUNT!"
5. Payment Details Already In Use: Use different card, or phone to get other one cancelled.
6. All Else Fails.... Brain "Get Another One"

Xbox 360 Arcade £115, Xbox Live Gold 12 Month Subscription £49.75, Realising 6 Million people got it right 1st time, priceless.

Sorry to have a go dude, but, bit of common sense would save this thread.

No i am 18 since last January .
I just don't understand my profile is perfect with all my other Live PC games like dirt2 Bioshock 1 and 2 but it is telling me on my Xbox that my account is linked to a parents live account which it isn't.
Even worse it wont tell me which account so i can fix it.
I don't want to have to go and set up a new hotmail just for this.

I've felt your pain OP. Consoles should no longer be consider plug and play (one of the arguments exclusive console fans use for not PC gaming) because as soon as you delve into the network portion of it it can quickly all go to hell. Both the 360 and PS3 have given me some horrible experiences.

My 360 and PS3 rarely get used for gaming. I figure if I'm going to hardcore game it's going to be on the platform that provides the most options and fun factor.

 

I think ill just leave it to collect dust.The weird thing is my little 12 year old brother set up an account with no problems

I sorry but i don't know what you are implying all i am saying is that i am not going to bother with it anymore.
Sure tour signing up to live might of went smoothly but this isn't the case for me or many other people

 

You didn't try any of the steps we suggested, you didn't respond directly to the people who were trying to help you (like Warren with his list) and you claim that creating a hotmail account is more effort than you can handle. I don't think this is Live's fault, to be honest, I think you're either a bit dense or you don't really want a solution.

Did you create an entirely new hotmail account and a new Live account with it? I mean...there's literally no way that can not work. Unless God hates you or something.

I don't think I can get my head around leaving a console to gather dust because you can't be bothered to create a new account (or sort out the old one, it probably is sortable somehow).

Why not sell the console to someone who will actually use it
