The only drawback of it was the trailer of Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole before the film. My wife insists on us watching it.
Yeah really does deserve a Blu-Ray set up. Spoiler How good was the scene when the van was rolling, and the dreams gravity kept spinning around, apparently it was done using a massive rotating set, rather than special effects.
I thought it was a great film. Not quite what I was expecting, though I wasn't sure what I was expecting. What I liked was I found it kept me right on the cusp of understanding it all the way through. When I walked out the cinema I wasn't amazed, I thought it was a tad long, I might have been a bit too tired to take in that kind of film, but afterwards I kept thinking about it and thinking it was awesome. Thought the actors were great, I especially liked the english dude, I think he'd make a good James Bond.
I went to cineworld to watch this, we came a bit late since most of the seats were taken and we saw some people sitting on the floor. So we did the same, however just 15 mins. before the show they said we couldn't sit there.. We ended up with The Collector. Ahhh..
I think he's talking about Tom Hardy (Eames). I don't think he'd make a great Bond, but he's fun. Definitely one of my fav actors.
Yes it does. As for your comment. Nolan's supposedly a big fan of "reality" and finding complex but real/mechanical solutions to problems easily solved by CGI. You can see that in Batman a lot in the physicality of it all. The scene in Begins where Batman looks out over Gotham from the top of a skyscraper was filmed in Chicago on a real building and they strapped Bale to a post attached to the roof of the building so he couldn't fall off, then panned around him in a chopper. Looks amazing and would've been very Spider Man if they'd done it CGI. Inception was beautiful for that reason, along with a ton of other ones!
Ok this is a touch off topic, but how much do cinema tickets cost around the world? I just checked how much it would cost to see this tomorrow and was deeply upset. 10,50 € / £8,9 / $13,6 It's a bit cheaper in the earlier showings, but still 7 €. I went to a lot of movies while in Australia as it felt so cheap, just can't recall the exact price.
They are £6.70/£7.20 where I live, but I use Orange Wednesday (2 tickets for the price of 1), only downside is wednesdays are allways packed when a film first comes out.
£4.50 at Cineworld in the middle of the day in Birmingham. Has always been cheap probably due to the AMC a stone's throw away.
I could've paid £4.50 at our local Cineworld as well (that's before 12pm I think), but decided to see it at the IMAX screen at Odeon, so it cost us £9.70 each for a student ticket in the cheapest seats (would've been over £13 for an adult ticket in the more expensive seats IIRC).
I paid $10.50. That's the adult price for the standard (non-IMAX) theater. Would have been $17 for IMAX.
£7 including 50p online booking fee. 3D is an extra £1 I would've paid twice as much to see Inception if the screen was good enough (although my local is very, very decent given it's not a branded one). Most I've ever spent was £14 for Empire Leicester Square, but worth every penny. Best screen I've ever sat in.
$9.50 for movies after a certain point here. $12 for any 3-D stuff. When I was in Thailand it was about 6 dollars for to see a movie with drink and popcorn included with the ticket, and instead of having to sit in the crappy movie theater seats, the seats were large Lazyboy style chairs. Complementary blankets and a small table instead of cup holders.
Oh I'd already forgot just how rubbish the screen can be! Dang it's all coming back now. Last time I went to see a movie in Finland I ended up in the smallest theater of the lot and both the image and sound quality was appalling. I guess that's why I haven't even thought of going to cinema in ages...
I think he could be very good, no one thought Daniel Craig would make a good Bond but I thought he was excellent in Casino Royale.
