Sarcasm noted. They may be big, but they're only 300k.. how crap is your connection? :p It's the file size that makes it slow, not the resolution. There are pics in this thread 3 times that size, but only 1024 across.. no one complains about those :wallbash:

A bigger desk. I like the cut of your jib! :) I'm considering that here.

Also... one option is a pair of these mounted on the wall.. like this....

Yea wall mounting would look nice and probably sound good as well, but the speakers I have are Amphion Heliums which weight 15.4 lbs (7kg) a pop, not to mention lack wall mounts as standard and have vents on the rear panel... Also it's a rental house so I don't feel like drilling mahoosive holes for the wall mount bolts.

Also there's no way I'd want to change the speakers, let alone could afford a new pair of as good/better ones. Overall it's kinda tricky. Also the room is a small concrete bunker which makes placing the speakers a nightmare.

Yeah pook, I couldn't work/game/function at a desk that small. My desk is twice the width of yours and about the same depth as yours between the window and the near edge in that photo. Anything less (the size of yours for example) and I would be wayyy cramped. 28" monitors take up mucho space :hehe:

The room itself is a problem for me. It's a 3 bedroom house. I dont want the rig in the bedroom... my wife has the other room (large), and I'm stuck in the smallest room :(

That'd be it then. I'm spoiled with space here... I have a large bedroom and workshop and a small study/office to play with. We live outside the city limits though, so there's more space in general ;)

    Yeah... that's the one.

There are probably cheaper ones around, but by the time you add postage on it (it's quite heavy) you're not saving much. Most large towns (in the UK) have a Maplin store within driving distance, and Maplin offer free postage anyway.

Heh, there are two Maplin stores within walking distance of my flat ;).

Shame they don't offer any desk-mounted VESA arms... I rent, so can't go drilling big holes in the wall - the landlord probably wouldn't appreciate it too much!

just drill the holes, mount the screen, then when you move out stick some masking tape over the holes and repaint the wall in magnolia (cheap B & Q stuff) no one will know the difference:D

Yeah they will. When we moved in, I looked over our inventory. The agency had noted each and every nail in the wall along with any defects and unfilled holes.

I'll just find a decent desk mount! :)

Tape?? LOL. Fill it properly, sand it, and paint.. then no one WILL know.

Here's the new set-up but apart from the new Onkyo AV unit it's the same gear really(Phillips system finally died after 8 years). A vast improvement over the attic room I took the last picture in.

The DPL 7.1 system is pukka in this space and the sub loves the wooden floor.

    Bliss!!:baby:

I have a pair of those speakers, and I originally had them mounted above my displays. I wouldn't recommend it. For some reason the don't sound as good when they are mounted to high up. Placing them on the desk is a better solution, except for the space-problem...

You could always put the small display above the large one, put the case on the floor, and put the speakers on the desk.

Nah... don't like the sound of that. I'll rethink.
