Ikea sell different leg lengths for all its units, and even adjustable ones.

Two first words to pop into mind: single, engineer.

Don't take it the wrong way, loving the cleanliness, wouldn love to have such room myself, but it just would never work. You could probably rent yours as an operating room to some nearby hospital.

My temporary desk setup, removed the 32" to make room, really cant stand the cluttered desk, very much a WIP though.

You need to find out how to get your camera to focus.

Ok I finally solved the space-problem! My desk is originally meant for some service use (?) which means that there's another sheet of wood in front, covering the feet and the pocket billiards from curious eyes. Clearly I don't need such feature, so instead of having the wood just hang in there, I decided to put it into use in the form of a upper-deck.

The plan was born a couple of days ago and today when my mate went into a PC-store to pick up an external 2,5" drive, I jumped in and asked him to drive through Bauhaus to pick 8 meters of wood for me

The wood I bought was 2*2", there are two 1600 mm pieces running the whole length and five 500 mm tall legs holding the damn thing up. At this stage it was just a table on top of another.

So I figured it might be a good idea to bolt it down. I used some fugly brackets. Then again, they aren't hugely visible and in the end of the day I DO value my test rigs, speakers and screens more than the aesthetics of this solution.

After the table was in place it was simply a matter of getting all the cables in place :wallbash:

    The result is perfect.

    Even my cat looked impressed.

EDIT: in case someone cares, the main computer as of now is

    HD5850
    4 GB
    2*1 TB
Silverstone Night jar 400 W passive PSU

I'm going to be honest, it doesn't look like you've increased your desk space that much. The front legs seem to obstruct your outer monitors.

Well you're very much wrong. The screens are just like they were before the upper-deck. The only difference is that now there's space for the speakers and test benches. Even after moving the main rig from the floor to the desk.

and Omnituens: Aye. Hugely cute and just as stupid.

That desk is looking precariously sketchy. Even your cat is a little bewildered to be honest.

    I like it!

20 minute modding of furniture, and above all else, practical for the cat.

All those scratching posts and wires to play with. :D

My new Living room. My office is pretty much no more, and my PC equipment is in my Bedroom, just waiting on the delivery of a new desk part before photo's

Apologise for the poor image quality, looked better than it is on the Camera screen.

You want to keep them as far away from the wall as you can to avoid reflections from the walls behind it.
