Way to understand and answer the question. H50: For me 100 mm is out of comfort zone. You CAN fit the thing in that space, but I'd try to avoid such tight bend. The block/pump assembly alone is 56 mm high (from base) so there's really not much time for the tubes. H70: The pump/block is just 28 mm tall and you could fit it with the hoses to a space of about 50 mm. Again a bit more if you want to avoid stress...
My question was: Can you put a H50 in a case with a clearance of 100mm between the mainboard and an obstacle like a PSU. However my English sucks. Thanks Jipa. So for the H50, how much space would I need to avoid kinking? 120mm? 130mm?
There's nothing really preventing you from bending the hoses sharply, but having 130 mm instead of 100 would make a great difference (just about twice more space for hoses).
I found the H70 will fit in a tighter space than the H50 because the pipes on the H70 will rotate some on the pump.
I think a big plus for Corsair or CoolIT sealed water coolers is the silent running (once you swap out the stock fans).
I think you are referring to ones made by CoolIt - they have a pretty bad reputation IMHO. The Corsair H50/70 on the other hand? Good as gold.
I think tonshardware did an article on air coolers vs water coolers? Would normally source it but I'm on my iPod.
My H70 is doing fine on a Q6600 at 3.5 GHz and it's way cooler than the Zalman CPNS10X could manage, even when OC'd even further. I would like to do a"proper" H20 install on my i5-665K next... she's currently at 4.495 Ghz... dunx
Either that or he was refering to "coolers" in general and posted without actually any real knowledge or evidence.
Hi all, I am adding an H50 or H70 on my list to Father Christmas cos I have been a good boy this year Based on my current set up an H50 is fine, future proofing as much as possible I'm not sure whether the H70 is worth a few quid more?
I have the H50 and its fantastic, overclocked my 930 to 4 gig and load temps don't get above 45 degrees. I have the fan sucking air in rather than pushing out. I also originally had it in my lian-li PC60 case which is a bit small (had to mod side window).
LOLZ happens when you forget to change in your bios to set the pwm to always on max... (for the pump) RTFM!!!!!!!!! NOF said.
