Graphics PC crashing in some games

    I keep getting crashes in some gamesstar trek online/battlefield bad company 2 but in l4d or most other games nothing It loooks like this when it happens http://yfrog.com/evphoto0035wyj

    I have a amd x2 5200
    ati 4870 512
    2 gb ram
    Asus chrosshair mb
    Asus xonar dx sound card
    Windows 7 64 bit (but had problem in 32 bit mode as well)

    any other info needed pm me any help will do

    That is artifacting from the graphics card, or some other component failing. I would reseat the graphics card and all components and see if it persists. If it does you can pretty well be assured its the graphics card failing.

    Easy fix:
    As outlawol mentioned it's the GPU.

    The following are causing it:
    - You touch the GPU pins while installing, and requires a clean with rubbing alcohol
    - Dust is found in the PCI-E socket of the GPU, and requires a good clean
    - GPU is overheating - monitor temperature, ensure that the GPU fan accelerates as temperature rises.
    - GPU is failing (hardware problem), time to RMA under your warranty your GPU.

    If you've overclocked the GPU, set it back to stock and see if that resolves the issue.

    I have turned the fan up to 100% it runs at around 50c i play crysis 2 3 hours same with l4d 2 nothing but star trek online crash worms crash bad company crash.

    Strangely with worms and bad company 2 its only in the menu it crashes not wen playing the game?

    looks like it was my ram took a stick out working fine

    Really ??? Have you ran Memtest?

    If a faulty memory stick can cause artifacting then I have learned something new.
