EIDT: Can't see to get it to work

 

Neither can I.... I have the titlebar/minimize/maximize/close, as well as the scrollbars and start menu, but the taskbar is still pretty standard

I believe that shot of the station was taken during STS-71, making that image over 15 years old!

 

Have you installed custom themes before? If not, it's probable that you need to patch a few system files first. This is a good tool to do it for you: link

Also, have you upgraded to 7 SP1 recently?

Figured this might be the best thread to ask:

Does anyone know of a good actually working OSX theme for Win7x64? I am not asking for myself (really) but for my cousin who crashed his system recently by installing some scam version so he could go bragging to his friends. Ideally I'd like one that changes the theme and nothing else, he really does not need a different cursor, dock or anything else that messes with the explorer.

Already changed the login for him and installed rocketdock + OSX icons.

I gave this one a quick install and it all seemed to work, and all looked mac like to me. If you go with that one, ignore replacing imageres.dll as the custom icons you already have installed should have already replaced that file. I only installed the VS and the 64 bit system files, so it wasn't a full install and there were some differences between how it looked and the screen shots but I'm willing to bet that is due to me not doing the full install.

If you want to go all out though, take a look at this one. While I haven't tried it, the comments seem to suggest it all works, except with SP1 which causes a few incompatibilities.

There are quite a lot of mac styles on DA, but many of them also try to emulate OSX functions and stuff.

This theme did not work for us unfortunately when I tried it yesterday, there were some issues with the explorer status bar flashing. The other theme does seem to be the best around but really messes up things to much for him to be able to cope.

That's a shame. And odd about the flashing status bar.

While the themes should still work with SP1, they are not officially supported. So some themes may have the odd problem, some will get updated to fully support SP1 though.
