not sure, but i get the feeling you have something against me? not sure what i did to piss you off, but GFY
Only got something against people who don't read the thread. Start reading the threads before posting and theres no issue.
ph4zed why didnt you ask me this question i have a gtx 580 and i have a fractal r3 so i would go for the R3 also i thought you didnt like fugly cases like the Antec 1200 and HAF hmmmmm???
How do you work your cooling flame696? I have GPU envy looking at the GTX 580 and just curious of the best solution to cool it in a Fractal R3. Advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have 2 x 120mm Akasa Apache fans as intakes in the front, 1 x 120mm Akasa Apache as rear exhaust, 3 x 140mm BitFenix Spectre's 2 top exhaust and 1 side intake. Gpu temps idle at 39-40c
How does that sound in the Fractal R3? Wouldn't removing the 'ModuVentâ„¢' for the fans increase the noise of the system?
its really not that bad i run all the fans off a NZXT sentry 2 fan controller and i keep the fans on 50%. Also i have the case on my desk right next to my ear and its still very quiet
Well it's good to know it's quiet even with all those fans! I'm gonna try a minimalist approach with mine. Decided on a single 120mm Akasa Apache on the upper front intake which will draw in cool air and keep the CPU/HDD happy with any luck. My SSD will be in the bottom so won't really require any cooling (I hope!). I'll use a 120mm Be Quiet! USC Silentwings in the bottom to feed my second GTX 460 with cool air and then another intake of the same fan on the side panel for the first GTX 460 of my SLI configuration. Got a really nice filter for the side panel to stop the dust, or at least cat hair! For the exhaust I'm relying on a single 120mm Scythe Gentle Typhoon rated at 1850 RPM. Fingers crossed the temperatures will be kept under control with this configuration.
just because someone has a certain mount to spend, doesn't mean the whole lot has to be spent does it? indeed, i would consider it good advice if something achieved the objective and came in under budget. if you don't like the advice just ignore it, rather than twatty comments.
Why are you people fighting for? ph4zed can come across as being rude but he isnt he just said to read the thread and if you dont like him dont post on his thread. People are trying to give advice here and dont want to read posts about personal issues
The raven really is hard to argue against for the price it is now... but the FT02 looks sooo much nicer!! Either would be a b*tch to take to a LAN tho
Small update: Case arrived today. Scan working as clockwork as usual. Crysis load temps dropped 30C (yes, from 86C to 56C). This is with stock cooling. Cable management is bad but cooling potential is amazing with this case.
