I agree with Angel OD there Bill that is some very fine work for the CNC of the side panels. Im sort of used to big chunks of cnc'd billet  from you ;) not complaining though :hehe:

Those are some seriously large pieces of alu, i hate to see the raw material cost on this mod:eeek:

@Angel, the enterprise design was cut with 1/16" bit :thumb:

@IandW, I wonder if David wrote that episode? :eyebrow:

@Shael, Material cost for both cases was just over $1200.

Here is the entire front bezel assembly. The Silverstone FP34S Premium 3.5inch Bay Card Reader & Front I/O combo module mounts at 45 degree angle in the top panel. It's held in place with m3 set screws, inserted into countersunk holes on each side of the top panel. David chose this model mainly for it's card reader and headphone jack. It's from performance-pcs here It will be mounted in the new top panel.

Upper portion of the front bezel attaches to the top panel with "key" style fasteners for 8/32 machine screws..

I actually thought is was made with an even smaller bit... But that just goes to show how small the things on my mod is this time!

I would have recommended a motorized 7" indash screen instead of that Silverstone thingy! :naughty:

I've never seen this much additional alu on a case mod before, I'm having a bit of an epic overdose at the moment :D after seeing this again & some of the others I been checking out.

Too bad the case has to be usable. You could make the container deeper, then add a spring out of one of those "peanut brittle" cans to push the little furry balls of fun out. :naughty:

Sorry Bill. That still is from "The Doomsday Machine" written by Norman Spinrad.

David wrote "The Cloud Minders" & "The Trouble with Tribbles" for TOS, "More Tribbles, More Troubles" for TAS, "Trials & Tribble-ations" for DS9, & the 2-part "Blood & Fire" for ST:NV.
(He has cameos in the last 2)

How do I know all this without Wikipedia? I used to do tech support for UK scifi conventions between 1997 & 2007.

Vulcan Catholic school uniform? DOES NOT COMPUTE!

-Also... Tribble stuffing! (That should generate a few more views.) That whole sequence could use some squeak toy sound effects in my opinion.

Edit: I forgot to add: "ERROR! ERROR!"
