Displays Can d-sub display 1680x1050?

my beloved 22" CRT has come to the end of it's life, I have an old LG L225WS laying around so I connected it up. However, i am having a hard time getting it to it's native 1680x1050. At first I thought it's because W7 was detecting it as a Generic non PnP but nothing changed after I managed to find the correct driver for it. Display card is HD5770 with latest driver from windows update. The closest resolutions on the list are 1400x1050, 1440x900, 1600x900 and 1600x1200.
There is also the possibility of the EZ zooming button at the front of the monitor but nothing happened when I pressed it. Any thoughts please?

 

VGA supports that resolution.

Try installing the proper ATi driver for that card to get the resolution to show up

 

create a custom resolution if all else fails and force it right

 

tried the method on this thread but it's not showing up in CCC.

 

I installed the version 11.5 of the Catalyst Suite and the new AMD Vision Engine Control Center seems to have taken care of it.

 

see if you can find a driver specific to your monitor
