Diving down the M11 yesterday and was passed by a gorgeous Audi R8... I tried to catch up, but I was driving a Fiat Scudo... :/

Saw a Porsche 911 earlier this week in Leeds. It's difficult to tell what model because of the custom paint job and other stuff it's had done - matte black paint, carbon fibre roof & bonnet, custom rims.

Edit: sorry for the quality - this is from a crappy phone camera :p

Oh he'd be talking about the car, and I agree. Yes it's different and it's almost certainly the owner's pride and joy, but IMO Porsche's are not the car to be putting CF and matte paint on, they should gleam in the sunshine like a shiny, perfect apple. Except it's not an apple, it's a sports car, and it's shiny, and pretty... and shiney ;)

Definitely the car. I would be an ass if I were to bitch at someone's photography skills. I would also be a hypocrite because I'm terrible myself

Car regardless is pretty ugly. I think it's just a 911 Carrera 4 (996), Horrid Paint job tbh. Matte Paint should only be on BMWs and Range Rovers imo.

My conclusion was based off the fact that the Turbo and up versions have a spoiler. But I could be wrong.

Looks like a 996 Carrera 4S to me, based on the widebody and nasty reflector strip.

At least there's a nice A3 in the background, might even be an RS3 looking at the wheels and bodykit.

I think you're right about it being a Carrera 4S - it's been spotted before. The first part of the plate (non-standard, probably not 100% legal) was R19.

There's also a Bentley Contintenal with matte black paint that likes to park in the same area. I'll try to catch that next week if it's around.

Some of those you've linked don't look too bad. But the matte just doesn't work on that Porsche.. To me it looks like a dirty black board..

The Carerra GT looks fantastic in Matte Black. Everthing else looks wrong. It's the Lack of a spoiler imo. And I was close, Carrera 4 was close enough. :p

Funnily enough, I saw a matte black GT3 RS today and it looked sexy.

Also saw a Ford GT or GT40 (speed relative to me was >140mph) in Gulf livery. Absolutely made my day.

No camera handy for either :(

It is indeed a Carrera 4S (2003) and was originally silver.

Probably the DVLA database, or the RAC car check database. Or possibly the "My Car Check" website... there are lots of places to find that sort of info out about a vehicle. Either that or M7ck is a police officer or employee and has access to the police vehicle records :)

Just a car trade website, not all vehicles are listed but most are.

People with DVLA or PNC access aren't supposed to use it for personal reasons and AFAIK online car checks costs money each time, so I doubted it would be those.

    EDIT: found a freebie - webuyanycar.com.
