    Hi all,

I am looking for a set of headphones or headset for around the £70.00 mark.

    Primary use: Gaming
    Secondary use: Music

Microphone is optional, if it comes with one great if not no big deal.

I have read 100's of reviews and it seems that the 50-80 market is flooded with products. Does anyone have any exposure to any of the following that they can advise on:

    AKG K520's
    http://uk.akg.com/product-detail-2821/k520wht.html

    AKG K121 Studio's
    http://www.soundonsound.com/news?NewsID=11183

    Razer Carcharias
    http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169415800

    AKG GHS 1
    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/peripherals/2011/01/29/akg-ghs1-camouflage-review/1

Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Sigma
    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/peripherals/2011/01/22/creative-tactic-3d-sigma-review/1

Or does anyone have any other ideas around the £70.00 mark, I would like to avoid USB ones.

    Thanks
    Bennie:D

I have looked at these, a little over my price range... is the extra really worth it?

The Corsairs are good, but positioning is amazing on the Audio Technica's because of the wide soundstage. The open back on them gives a lot of sound leakage, but you get the enhanced directional accuracy.

Go and get the ad700s. They are the best headphones for gaming for price due to soundstage.

Other headphones would be the sehn hd 598 and 595 and 558 and 555 (518 and 515 suck)
The 558 and 598 are the newer models but have no diffidence in sound but only a removable cable. Another one is the dt770

The Creative Sigma's you mentioned are brilliant too.

Torn between the two of these, but the sound leakage finally pushed me to choose the Vulcans. I play almost all my games at night, with small baby and wife that is "all done" by 9:30pm, I think the Vulcans will be better with the closed backs.

To be honest anything will be a upgrade from the £10.00 tesco in ears I am using at the moment.

Thanks for the info from all

+Rep given to those that supplied views and info.

Only downside is that scan dont have them in stock. Ordered from OCUK, lets hope to God I don't have to RMA...

sennheiser headphones, particularly the gaming one's are highly over rated, as iv used ones that cost £120 before and sound crap compared to my old SteelSeries that cost £50 and nothing compared to my Vulcan's.
