jHanlon, Unicorn, Krikkit, Bindibadgi, Nexxo to name a few. Though I haven't seen John online in quite a long time.
What do you mean old timers? Here's a few definitions. 1. Those that played Quake "back in the day?" 2. Earliest Game Played GTA3 3. Earliest Game Played Rainbow Six 4. Earliest Game played Modern Warfare 2 5. Earliest Game Played - Angry Birds on iPhone
But seriously I couldn't tell you most of them. Not to mention the multitude of guys who stick quite firmly to the modding/logs/folding/photography sections. Not everyone likes to spout drivel like us general discussioneers lol
If you mouse over the members names on the left of any thread, the link that appears has the member number. That number is chronological, so that the lowest numbers are the older members. Easy way to tell who's been around longest. Example: the OP's member number is 2559.
I've been propping up the bar in this joint a fair while. I'm far from "old timer" though. I've seen join dates from way before then. I am an old timer in as much as I've been a computer user since 1978.
I've been lurking about since 2002. I built my first computer back then and did most of the research as a guest on bit. Finally joined in 2004. I've been gaming since 1987 - writing my own games on the school's bbc micro (a pong clone, a downhill skier clone and later on space invaders). My first computer was also my first mod as I was a regular on silentpc review and sourced parts to make it whisper quiet. I've seen a lot of members come and go over that time and I've never been a regular contributor simply because my working situation and living arrangements have always been very fluid. I wouldn't consider myself and old timer on here although I'm probably starting to push the top half of the demographic now :-D
I guess the real old timer is Koolvin. (Anyone else still remember that alien avatar?) and maybe RTT. By OPs definition I'm probably an old timer as well although I joined quite a few years after the forum started. I did lurk for a while, though.
Haha! I knew what teh internet was at the age of 5, and started hacking at the age of 6! Well, actually, maybe that was just deleting system32.....
...anyone who remembers the first mod ever to appear on bit-tech? that was over ten years ago now! /me limps out on zimmerFrame
Been here a few years now, I joined to get help with a VB program I had to write in college. Edit, I'm member no 6836 Edit 2, our noobest noob is Alexlee, member no 94797, now that makes me feel old!
