Why do you bother with the pump? Position the rad over the block and gravity do the rest of the job. Without any noise. If that thing is able to work totally passive it couldn't be worse this way.
I've got to see this. Subbed. I was just thinking about cracking open my router, and sticking some kind of HSF in there; but watercooling it? wow.
By using convection? Didn't really think about that but for the low heat load I don't see why not... I was just going to get some small heatsinks and use thermal tape to attach them but I've got some small WC blocks that I've been holding onto for just such a project and got the 80mm rad spare so figure why not
Finally found the water blocks I had stashed away, should be perfect for this 2.5cm x 2.5cm, tiny little suckers. Got some 3M thermal tape should be able to just stick them on
with all the space in the casing.. you could prob add a mini itx board to act as a powerful firewall as well. Where did the little blocks come from??
I've got a chip amp that's going in there as well to stream music from the router. They were marked as Koolance blocks but can't find the model anywhere.
Been trying to find some Y shaped joiners so that both heatsinks will come in one way and back in the other side. Without them I don't think the Thermalsiphon effect will work.
Exactly like that except the tubing I have is ~5mm Going out tomorrow so hopefully I'll find some tomorrow and then the mess making can begin
Sorry for the delay everyone, my partner and I just had a baby so things have been a bit hectic to say the least! Now some progress! Front panel of the case, still need a fair bit of work with the file but getting there. 80mm fan hole for the rad, toggle switches for modem, router and amp. RCA plugs for amp output. Everything just about mounted, got to source a power supply for the modem/router and mount the transformer for the amp but getting there
