^Buy your own clippers like I did; shave your head 3 or 4 times and they have paid for themselves ( I remember when it was £5 for a grade 3 all over- bought some £20 Babyliss clippers and they lasted about 8 years = £££ savings )...

I bought a €60 pair of trimmers to replace an older set from the mid-nineties that we had until 4 years ago. I haven't paid for a haircut in 13 years. Feck knows how much money I've saved.

Samsung are supposed to be pushing Android 4 out to the SII from March 1st.

Unfortunately, most of us will have to wait until the networks ruin it with all their bloatware before we get it. :sigh::wallbash:

XFX FX-797A-TNBC Radeon HD 7970 Black Edition. All of my preferred brands were sold out or hugely overpriced at both Newegg and Amazon, so figured what the hell, I've never had an XFX card before and for $20 why not snag the overclocked version and see if it's really a waste of my money while I'm at it?

Bits and bobs for my projector case build.

I needed bits to build a:

    - 12v controlled fan power relay
    - 5v USB controlled 230v power strip
    - LED for lighting the inside of the mail box. Can't see a bloody thing when it's dark outside.
    - Microphone for my portable speaker system. Bring on the drunken yelling!

The better half's dad was here for two weekends, so quite a bit of unusual stuff.

Trip to Namibia's biggest Cave (120m deep, 4.5km long, full of Guano, 6 species of insect eating bats in it).

Trip to a lake resort here for a BBQ and a swim. Wanted to rent some canoes, but the canoes were out of order. Saw a Dassie Rat there... never seen one before.

I trip down a little driven coutnry road around sunsent to look for snakes (missus's dad is big on those). Found a run-over little (45cm) egg eater, a run-over jackal and traces of where somone hit a porcupine.

Oh, those dassies are pretty cool, closely related to elephants IIRC. I missed my chance to see one.

Arriving tomorrow will be one of these from Scan's "Today Only" page. Owning a GTX260, I think I've been 3 generations behind long enough.
(I may keep it as a PhysX card)

"Closely" is a bit of an overstatement. The misconception comes from "The dassie's clsoest relative is the Elephant"... meaning it has no really close relatives.
It's called a Rock Hyrax in English, by the way, and the dassie rat I saw is unrelated to the Hyrax.

That being said - we have plenty of Hyraxes in Windhoek itself. The place where I stay has them every day. We hear them screaming (youtube that... it's crazy how much noise they make), and occasionally see them running across the road, which is one of the funniest things in the world to see... trust me on that.
