This is a picture from my town today.... A small place called Frome. This is a busy junction that is used to get in and out of town towards Longleat...
Wrong type of rain people. Wrong type of rain. Too much, too heavy and for too long. Don't you know our water systems can only handle showers. This is Britain after all!
I caught enough today. I was watching that program about it on itv the other day it never really occurred to me how much effort is evolved in catching and processing and then transporting water.
i'm so wet yet i'm fed up of being wet we have the odd flood in herts, i'm so glad i live on top of the hill
It was called is Britain running dry. It was on on Thursday I think you can get it on itv player. I'm on my phone now so can't really dig up the link. There was very little about processing water, but at one point they discussed how to move large volumes of water around the country, and how to conserve usage at home, which I found really interesting. Mrs Bear didn't so much, but I had the remote.
Try living in Portsmouth.. which is just flat. And then some more flat. Stepped outside my door to pop to the shops and walked into essentially a lake in the middle of the road.
Have some of ours, please. The weather is so crap up here people think it's an omen of the coming apocalypse if they see the sun in the sky.
What? She didn't play nice with you and now you have to....... Aw forget it, obviously you don't understand innuendo. Nice and dry here in SoCal.
Here in Wales, we have heard rumours of this bright shiny thing in the sky, but personally I don't believe them. How would it stay up there, for starters?
