Hey, So as per title. I'm looking to get a new GPU since my 4850 doesn't cut it at 1080p. I was waiting for the 660Ti but at £250 its just abit too much for me to want to spend for my uses. I'm aiming to spend ~£150, though I'm willing to go alittle higher if it's worth the extra bit. I'm just really after something for playing my MMO's on decent settings. i.e. Rift, GW2 and WoW. Everytime I ask someone, I normally get the response of spend more and get the 660Ti which isn't much use. Cards I've looked for on scan for my budget seem to be 560Ti, 6950, 7850 and 6870. But I'm not sure which will actually be the best value to get since I don't upgrade too often due to the nature of games I play.
Second hand 570 or 580 at approx £130/£160 respectively. Much better than anything else for the money.
I quite like my 7850, but I beleive it still sells for around £170. Maybe wait for the 660/650 to see where they are price wise. I would go for something this gen personally as they are more price efficient, and mostly quieter (mine is anyways )
My vote goes to the 7850 (again!) if even for the OC potential it had. I was in the same situation a month or so ago. I am extremely happy with mine

All of the above are great cards, I vote would be for the 570/580, but after swaying between green and red for many years, I just find the green team drivers better.
Have to admit I would wary of getting 2nd hand graphic cards or CPUs. Chances are someone oc'ed the crap out of them and they're now only borderline functioning. Although that being said I would like to add that considering the quality of people frequenting this particular forum I might check out the market place as well.
This is a brilliant price for the 7850. It's the same manufacturer as mine (Sapphire) but I paid £200 for mine. Not sure what the true cost will be with postage though - heard OC can be a little steep? I have mine OCed to 1150 core from 920 stock.
Really? I find, especially on the Bit-Tech Marketplace, people are very up front about this, as they don't want to sell somebody a dud. eBay, of course, is the total opposite.
Never had any issue with any 2nd hand gpus or cpus, and some of them have been oc'd rather heavily (bought just for the purpose), they're tougher than you think (in my experience) +1 for the 570/580
Looks like a good deal on paper but postage bumps it up to £167 Shame no 570's in market place at the moment.
£12 postage! The MSI version is available at Novatech for £160 with free delivery if that takes your fancy; http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...hicscards/amdhd7800series/r7850tf-2gd5oc.html
a couple of weeks ago it was £180 for non oc version... got mine over clocked at 1100 at the moment.. havent tried it any higher yet
