No problem, thanks for trying to help us out - I'm sure you can understand being a bit cautious about a first-poster (or thereabouts!) posting a link that is possibly viral. Welcome! OT: It's awesome, and worth the excitement I reckon, but the flesh is too weak to carry on for now.
Been playing for the last hour and must say I'm very impressed. A lot of things have changed but it's still the same game at its core and feels the same to play.
Definitely. A properly faithful update. It's instantly recognisable, but still far enough away from the original to feel fresh again. And to say all it's cost is a Steam account and a bit of bandwidth (maybe some hair pulling to get bloody thing downloaded in the first place), it's even better. EDIT: Some of the things I have seen so far have exceeded what I expected from the Source engine. May the Black Mesa team go a long way. /OT
Loving it so far but am going to have to jack it in for the night. I like the way that subtle parts have been altered, so it's not quite the same as just running through the original again. On a side note, is anyone getting stuttering issues, particularly during NPC speaking parts?
Yup, I'm getting a general feeling of unoptimised performance here... but for a free mod it's certainly a 10/10. Such atmosphere. No virus by the way, for anyone who got my previous post.
I had a bit of a spike during the train ride entering the radioactive zone. Coming back to the computer blast in Anomulous Materials it had a little moment, but nothing major. I'm on a low spec rig (E5200 @ 3.3, 4 Gig ram, and a GTS250 512) running at 1680x1050, High, 4x filtering.
Finally got it working last night. Just wondering around after the accident. I didn't play much because it was late. More playing soon.
So did I, I think it was the effects on the green gloop. I would have thought that 16x AF wouldn't hurt your framerates. I used to own 2 cards like yours.
I've been getting a few performance-related glitches and frame drops as well, as is to be expected I think. Definitely a 10/10 for a mod, it's pretty fantastic.
Wow is all I have to say, just WOW. Not surprised it took so long to be ready. Just the start, walking around before the resonance cascade is amazing. The vorts are much tougher too, or rather, harder hitting and faster, and the houndeyes. Died a number of times already, mainly from falling off hanging crates though,
Forgot about this, downloading now. For anyone else who's not downloaded it yet, the torrents are a lot faster than the official download links.
Took me few attempts to get past that section, too Hopefully, those who have downloaded it are still seeding it. I left my pc on all night uploading, still going now.
