Exactly the same issue here, the URL is http://vip.asus.com/user/uhome.aspx followed by a lot of numbers etc, sure it's the only place to register. Found it interesting that the Nexus 7 is considered to be part of the Eee family that stumped me for a bit!
Use the serial number from the box or from the transparent peel-off sticker that was on the back of the Nexus. The serial in the android settings is not the right one. Swap 0 for o's as well. C70 is actually C7o on mine.
Could you provide me with your serial numbers via PM? I will get the service team to check. Thanks, Tim
Android 4.1.2 arriving on a Nexus 7 near you soon. Performance enhancements and home screen rotation. http://www.techradar.com/news/mobil...ets-android-4-1-2-with-landscape-mode-1103237
Just bought a Nexus 7 this Tuesday. Was using it and enjoyed it (my first tablet). Come this afternoon, it cannot turn on. Just send it back to the shop for them to contact Asus ...
Yes, did the obvious thing and recharged it but still won't power on. I charged it fully when I received it and it was on 70% battery level the last time I used it. I was just about to buy a bag/carrying case for it when this happened ...
Thanks to all for the replies. The shop called Asus service centre and they replied that when first used, the unit should be charged for at least 12 hours. I charged it until the screen showed 100% (as stated in the manual), which didn't give it the full charge, hence the battery went flat despite showing 70%. The shop has charged the N7 overnight and now I'm continuing to enjoy the N7 . I wish they stated charging it for 12 hours in the manual.
It's improved over the alternative launcher for landscape mode simply because the lockscreen is now landscape too. I was starting to get annoyed at having to key in my password while tilting my head ninety degrees to see what I was doing. Can't say I notice a performance difference, but then it was fine before. No complaints here.
