Good optimisation work from the driver team at AMD.

I'll give it a punt when I get home from work.

I don't like the dubious '110%!!!!!' thing, though.

    Very impressive!

Though my last few GPUs have been Nvidia, its great to see the Red team taking drivers seriously.

What a massive performance jump. If its just through driver optimisation then wow, but I can't help but feel they might have unlocked something at a hardware level (higher boost clocks or something?)

As an owner of both 7970 Lightning and GTX680 Lightning, I look forward to comparing the two with these new drivers from AMD. Well see if they can hold up against the traditionally superior NVIDIA drivers

Nice boost in BF3, was hoping for a little more from Borderlands tbh.

Wish I had picked up my 7870 with a copy of Far Cry 3 - looks great to me!

Looks like Nvidia released some driver optimizations of their own.
Would be nice to read your conclusions after you test both cards with their new drivers.

Right, my findings with the latest 12.11 Beta drivers vs 12.8 in BF3.

The results speaks for them self! :D

    Ain't that a bitch? 3 free games 2 weeks after I buy my 7970GHz :/
Oh well. As for testing the improvements, I can't weigh in due to I've been running the BETA drivers since I got my card 2 weeks ago. Never had the 12.8.
