Thanks for the replies everyone. The reason that my original loop design was abandoned was simply that I made the decision to stop spending on the project. That layout needs lots more parts that I don't have. I have everything I need to finish the project with this design. @Waynio. There is no problem with the original layout as far as function is concerned. In the original layout the coolant entered the GPU and exited normally. It then went around the back of the board and into the CPU and exited back to the res. I've merely got rid of the extra pipes and fittings and joined the CPU and GPU directly. The original design was modeled on inlet manifolds on car engines (but of course here they are tilted up), to get a flat symmetrical look. The height of the main parts from Motherboard to the top of the highest pipe fitting is still only eighty millimeters. And that includes the GPU. The new layout is much more economical and simpler. It looses symmetry because of the angle that the connector line is on, but I've gotten use to this now and I like it. All this will look even better once the covers are on. I'm making them now.
Thanks for the replies guys. A milestone of sorts. Here is the completed chassis. I may still remove the PSU stickers but then again I may not. I'm stillthinking......... Will start applying the final coats this weekend. Still a few details to sort out but the next update will be the final one of the completed project. See you then.
Oh noooooooooo ! But I just realised you've "painted" (powdercoadted ? Anodized ?) your motherboard. It looks awesome like this !
Eh, the mobo isn't painted. Did you mean the mobo TRAY? But yes, this loooks sweet. Attila, are you sure the GTX360 will be able to handle the load?
Hehe, I was looking back at older posts, searching for the post when you introduced the radiator to us, and I found this: That was march 2011. Think you can complete it in 2012, as you just mentioned you would?
The dual purpose extended GPU casing is very nice. Another serious beauty about to be wrapped up keep on thinking Attila, produces pure awesomeness. I'd better get back on with my project, if I let it go past 5th December I'll be a lazy modder next year.
That looks absolutely fantastic, I love how clean everything looks. Looking forward to seeing the finished article (as I'm sure you are )
The more i see the raw simplicity of this, the more i like it. Its stark and clean, this is relevant to my interests.
