    As stated in the OP "the best tales posted ... will be put to a 10 day poll". It was decided that the best 6 stories would be put to the vote, because too many in the poll and the likelihood of a tie was too great.

    The shortlist was selected by a panel of 3 people (myself, Yodasarmpit and Carrie) on the following basis.
    • All 3 of us had to agree on what we considered the best three stories.
    • Then each panelist nominated 1 additional story to be included - the remaining 3 shortlisted.

    So each story actually had 4 opportunities to be included - once in the top 3, and once by each of the panelists.

    Because what one person finds interesting, funny, surprising, unexpected etc. differs to the next person, as it would across the forum, I felt this the fairest way to include a cross section of entries

    I've actually a got a patch of arsecheek where there hair doesnt grow anymore where the glue pulled me skin off on cheek separation *wince*. Its like a perma-reminder to look before you sit
