Graphics Chance of getting this GTX 780 Ti for under £425? NOW SLI FOR UNDER £300?

Asides from the rather scant box PNY have put the warranty label on the PCB itself and not over a screw which is nice! Saves faffing about because I do rather fancy an EVGA backplate. Might get installing the card for a test run tonight and make sure it actually works!

 

The card is now installed and working!

At stock the GTX 780 Ti is inferior to GTX 670 SLI but not by much which is to be expected. However with a few early tests it looks like my GTX 780 Ti is very overclockable! Without putting in much effort at all I've set the 'GPU Clock Offset' by 200 MHz and achieved a sustained clock over 1200 MHz and a temperature of 80 degrees. Power Target and Temp Target were set at 106% and 95 degrees respectively. Bumped the memory by 50 MHz as well. Performance wise these settings exceeded what GTX 670 SLI was capable of which is pretty damned impressive for a single card.

Look forward to fine tuning my clocks for maximum gains. I'll post some 3D Mark scores when I'm done.

Also pleasantly surprised with the acoustics of the Nvidia reference cooler. It's certainly audible when working but not annoyingly so. These things usually irritate me but I find the whoosh of air strangely satisfying. Can easily see myself slipping down the SLI route again though!

 

Just hope you never need to RMA it.

Any problems crop up with the card then it's the retailers responsibility to fix the problem. As I've always maintained, a warranty is a nice extra but consumer law is far far better at protecting your wallet!

In game with Battlefield 4 the difference between GTX 670 SLI and the GTX 780 Ti is night and day. During explosive death scenes the frame rate dipped with GTX 670 SLI but with GTX 780 Ti the whole scene is seamless. I can also max out all settings with HBAO at a resolution of 2560 by 1440 with VSync enabled it maintains 60 FPS! I'm very happy with this card!

Convinced it has more to give with regards to the OverClock so I'll have a play around with that. Also assuming my cashback is honored the cost of this card at the time of writing has come down to £414.87! Have a game code to sell on as well which will reduce the cost even further. One hell of a deal so far!

For my purchase that's given me £7.07 cashback via Quidco and also £2.12 by using a cashback credit card. Small chips in comparison to £425 but it all adds up! Ridiculous deal for a ridiculous card. I remember when I had the 670 F T W and to see the 780Ti exceed the performance of a very capable SLI setup is just... ridiculous. Once again, congrats!

Thought I'd update the original bargaintastic GTX 780 Ti thread!

Now have the option to go SLI with a second brand new GTX 780 Ti for under £300. Clearly another mis-price but not sure if it's worth pulling the trigger. Looking towards next year and the 20nm process hitting Maxwell is it worth holding off on this one?

Gaming wise looking at 2560 by 1440 resolution with The Witcher 3 and Star Citizen in my sights. Opinions Bit-Techers...

 

Zotac 780Ti on Scan for £326, so maybe not a pricing error and just dumping stock.

Given the marginal difference between the 780Ti and the 980, that has to be a bargain and, if you are getting one for under £300, even more so!

 

Reference cooler on the one I spotted which ain't cheap!
