Not so bad. Oddly i prefer it to more recent offerings, But I would also have loved to see the Dazzle Cammo for the main design but alas it was not to be.
Oh no it isn't! After the big hoo-ha in January Honda have in season development tokens like the other three and they can make any changes they want on reliability grounds. So if those new engines keep blowing up it'll be a total disaster, they'll just have to keep putting all new parts into engines, which will be terrible obviously.
Nope. The teams can bring developments all year long, so long as they have tokens to do it with. The rules didn't state as "use by" date.
Magnussen will be replacing Alonso for the first race. Doctors advised Alonso against racing. Imagine if Magnussen won the race! It would probably cause some head scratching at McLaren. As unlikely as it may seem, he did manage second place last year, and no-one really knows what the performance of the car is like. Has a reserve driver ever won?
At the moment, I think they'll be thrilled if the cars manage a race distance, never mind finish in the points.
I think McLaren may be in better shape than we think. Last year, the bets were that only half the cars would finish... that turned out to be wrong. Will McLaren challenge for the WCC/WDC? Not even almost. WIll they challenge for race wins? I think so. They do have a competitive driver pairing, and if anyone can drag a bad car around it's Alonso. That said - my money says it'll be a McLaren hand grenade. It'll be quick or go up in smoke.
Nigel Mansell won Adelaide 94, Mika Salo should have won one in 99, but was contractualy obliged to let Irvine win, Irvine felt so guilty about he handed Salo the winner's trophy on the podium. Other than that, can't think of any. Now that Fernando's not racing in Aus, I'm starting to think there's more wrong with him than anyone's admitting to. They wouldn't make him sit out an entire month for a supposedly minor concussion. It would certainly be a shock to see JB and K-Mag drive regularly.
The "Official" line is that the medics don't want to risk him doubling up on concussions if he wipes out again.
Is is resonably common to have longer lasting side effects after a concussion too, could be possible that is an issue for Alonso
