Yeah, I have a bit of a random collection going.

Allot of them are from the "capacitor plague" era so I guess I quite like picking the odd ones up for buttons and recapping them.

I fancy trying to find the upgrade version on the giant riser card, but haven't seen any recently.

Pretty sure you need an ECS PF88 Hybrid and AOpen tube in there as well.

Motherboard manufacturers are so boring these days... Asrock notwithstanding.

The Aopen Tubes go for $$$$$ sadly. The ECS stuff is worth a shout :)

Think one thing that killed it was the end of Via and Uli as chipset manufacturers, things seem to have got far more dull since intel and amd only chipsets came into force :(

You're not wrong, but then again I doubt the weird boards really sold in any numbers to make them worthwhile. It's nice to fondly look back, but let's face it, there was perhaps two individuals on the entire planet at the time that felt they needed a board that could chop and change between 754, 939, 479 and 775.

How about a DFI P45/ION hybrid as well?

I've already felt an improvement with my deadlifts after moving to these.

On the earlier topic of weird motherboards, I used to have one of these (originally imported by the very geeky partner of one of my university housemates):

I'm really sad to say that I stuck it in a build which I permanently lent to a friend and at some point in the last 13 years or so it was scrapped :(

Probably would have been worth something some day.

Finally got round to replacing my dead crucial 64gb SSD, 2 months of booting from a mechanical drive finally beat me.

Picked up a 256gb SANDISK X110 for £68 inc. should be to fit a few games on there aswell

Same - I recall my time with the SLI-DR Expert fondly. I can't fathom why, mind, because I seem to remember being liable to break it in half and throw it out the window half the time.

I eventually replaced it with an Asus A8N-SLI Premium - never did reach the same stratospheric overclocks but then again it didn't forget what it was doing at least once a week either.

Ah, those were the good old days!

Which variant did you go for Nex? Thinking about replacing the Pro 2...

The 4Gb RAM 128Gb version of the Surface 3 (not the Pro 3). It is surreally thin and light, and the screen has to be seen to be believed. Nice keyboard too --I got a red one. :)

The pen is totally responsive and its performance is indiscernible from the Pro 3.

Performance is good too: installed SketchUp on it for kicks and it works like a dream --fluid and without any stutter. After years of compromising since my Motion Computing LE1600 back in 2003, I've finally found the ultimate device.

[Derail] I still have an asrock 939 dual sata2 lurking somewhere along with the fabled Operton 144 I think it in the CAB2E stepping [/derail]

Ebay wins last night, new front bumper for the car mines cracked scuffed and chipped to hell, Set of braided brake lines with stainless fitting.
Also getting a new tyre today after the corner of a kerb killed my front left on Sunday, been waiting for it to come into stock since then.

Really wanted to go with a 36V mower, but couldn't justify the cost for the size of garden I have, so corded it is.
