    Somebody having a workstation-type rig with a big Threadripper CPU plus related parts doesn't automatically lead to "rich enough" to have a second vanity system purely for gaming and also has top of the range parts.

    i agree entirely... pre AMD Ryzen/TR/EPYC this was never gonna happen, becaue Intel didn't need to push.... but now, the potential power for 3d renders and worker is enormous

    And... if my old man, who likes to produce video in 4k, decides to upgrade from his older i7 ... there is SOO MUCH CHOICE for so little money now, and it's not only Intel... he has CHOICE at last.

    Ah yes, the fabled inferior clocks/cores. Once thought a myth brought about by unlikely legends. The Amdathlon of old has some truth to it, it seems. Did the mighty Intelicus fool us these long years?!

    If money wasn't an issue, I would love to do a custom water build with this kind of hardware, it would be an awesome experience.. But i'm afraid that's newer gonna fly with my significant other.. But hey, I can still dream :D

    But maybe there's gonna be a 3950X in my next upgrade *drool*
